Russian #icon of the Iconostasis (“The Image of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church”) from the private collection. It was painted in the second quarter of the 19th century, presumably in the village of Vetka in South Western #Russia. Imitating a six-tiered #Russian #iconostasis, this icon represents a highly detailed and very beautiful iconographic type that was very popular with the Popovtsy, one of the main factions of Old Believers.
