  • ATL Shortstop #3

The Braves were forced to pivot after presumed starting shortstop Ha-Seong Kim tore a ligament in his hand while falling on ice. Mateo was that quick pivot. The 30-year-old hit just .177 in 79 at-bats for the Orioles in 2025. He still remains a plus baserunner, but his defense at shortstop has also regressed over the last few seasons, so it’s hard to get too excited about this from a fantasy perspective.
  • ATL 2nd Baseman #9
Mark Bowman of MLB.com adds that Kim suffered the injury when he fell on ice while in Korea. He underwent surgery in Atlanta on Sunday to repair the injury. That means the slick-fielding 30-year-old won’t be available to help out the Braves until the end of May at the earliest estimate. In the meantime, the Braves are likely to slot in Mauricio Dubón as their starting shortstop.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #54
The Braves tried to push Suarez through waivers after avoiding arbitration with him last week by signing him to a $900,000 deal. The 28-year-old Suarez had a 1.86 ERA in one start and six relief appearances after the Braves picked him up from the Angels last season. He previously posted a 5.47 ERA in 61 starts and 38 relief appearances for the Halos from 2019-24. He’s out of options, so unless he makes the Orioles out of spring training, he’ll go back on waivers again at the end of March. More likely, though, is that the Orioles just put him right back on waivers in the coming days.
  • MIN 2nd Baseman #17
Once a top 100 prospect in the Rays’ organization, Bruján hit .253/.305/.310 in 95 plate appearances for the Cubs, Orioles, and Braves last season and owns a .199 average in 261 MLB games. He’s also a subpar defender, which likely makes him just organizational depth at this point in his career.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #76
Enlow hasn’t pitched in the minors due to injuries since making two starts for Triple-A Sacramento in the Giants’ system back in 2024. The 26-year-old was a notable pitching prospect after being selected by the Twins in the third round of the 2017 MLB Draft. He’s a lottery ticket arm for Atlanta’s pitching development engine.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #30
Waldichuk represents an intriguing addition for Tampa Bay’s pitching development apparatus to sink their teeth into this spring. The 28-year-old former top prospect’s stuff hasn’t rebounded to pre-Tommy John surgery levels but he still offers some appeal as a potential swingman, capable of stepping into the starting rotation or gobbling up multiple innings out of the bullpen. He spent a couple weeks with the Braves after being jettisoned by the Athletics last month and hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since the 2023 campaign.
  • TB 2nd Baseman #60
Wisely heads to Tampa Bay as a versatile utility infield option after getting into 26 games between the Braves and Giants last season, hitting .185/.279/.315 with one homer and one steal in 63 plate appearances. He offers some appeal as an experienced veteran stopgap at the highest level, but he can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #45
The deal, which is now official, includes a $1.25 million buyout, which guarantees Kinley at least $4.25 million to return to Atlanta’s high-leverage mix just a few weeks after the club declined his $5.5 million option for 2026. The 34-year-old veteran reliever finished last season with a respectable 3.96 ERA — 3.69 FIP — 1.18 WHIP and 73/33 K/BB ratio across a career-high 72 2/3 innings split between the Rockies and Braves. He’ll help bridge the gap to Atlanta closer Raisel Iglesias along with new high-priced setup man Robert Suarez.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #99
Guerra returns stateside after spending the past two seasons pitching overseas in Japan for the Hanshin Tigers. The hard-throwing 30-year-old righty last appeared in the majors for the Brewers and Rays when he made 17 relief appearances during the 2023 campaign. He’s an interesting zero-risk lottery ticket for Atlanta as a spring training flyer.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #45
Feinsand adds that the deal includes a $5.5 million club option for 2027 that carries a $1.25 million buyout. Kinley returns to Atlanta’s high-leverage mix just a few weeks after the club declined his $5.5 million option for 2026.
