The Offer plot

1972's The Godfather is often touted as one of the greatest films ever made, so there's a natural interest in the film's genesis. The Offer is based on the never-before-seen experiences of Oscar- and Golden Globe-winning producer Albert S. Ruddy on his journey to bring Mario Puzo's epic crime novel The Godfather to life on the big screen with Francis Ford Coppola.

Enjoy, this ten-part series based on producer Albert S. Ruddy's memories of the making of The Godfather. When you see the chaos behind the production of the milestone, it's hard to believe that a film has come about at all, let alone an indestructible masterpiece. Miles Teller is great as Ruddy and he's surrounded by a top-notch supporting cast, with Matthew Goode especially great (and hilarious) as producer Robert Evans. The series is extra fun if you already know a thing or two about the backgrounds of The Godfather; then The Offer really is a feast of recognition. As far as I'm concerned, the makers can now do the same for Apocalypse Now.
