The Western Code plot

When Tim Barrett drives into Carabinas, even there his reputation as a law enforcement officer is already well known. He saves Polly Loomis in a saloon from the unwanted attentions of a fighter. He is told that her mother was newly married to foreman Nick Grindel before her death and that she is leaving everything to him. Nick has also asked his stepdaughter Polly for her hand, but she is afraid of violence if her hot-headed brother Dick finds out. When a body is found at the Bow Knot, Tim can barely save Dick from a lynching. He is appointed deputy sheriff to investigate why Dick confesses to a murder he could not possibly have committed.
