To be honest, it was a bit disappointing in the end. Not that we got to the moment that we wanted to stop the film, but we ourselves would have done things differently when it comes to the story as a whole. What's very unfortunate is that there is no known culprit at the end of the film and the way the ending is put together, you are left with an unsatisfactory feeling. And what has also not become clear is the point that neighbor Martha just wandered through the woods without being bothered by a threat. It's not that it's played badly, absolutely not, the irritation is mainly due to a strange and unclear ending!

A 6 instead of a nice 7 with a good ending.

Nice opportunity to put down a great movie failed.

Good atmosphere but the story is so boring it ruins the whole movie.

The film is horror/thriller and mysterious as far as I'm concerned, but it doesn't excel in any of it.... actually I think it's seriously below par.

A film that leaves you with an empty feeling, and in this case that is meant negatively.

The movie is quite okay. Reasonable cinematography, the actors are fair to good and it is exciting at times. It should already get a 2.5 on that basis.
Yet I only give 1.5 stars? Yes, little choice. Besides the superfluous and predictable jump scares (usually for nothing), for me there is a big problem with the ending... I have nothing against an open ending, but then it has to be earned. The protagonist and mother have clearly seen the antagonist's face. Keeping the public in the dark isn't necessarily something that makes an ending better. Here it is done purely because the writer has seen it in other media but doesn't understand why it can be exciting.
I'm not going to say that someone shouldn't like the movie. It's my favorite movie ever. I'm just explaining why I (and I think others with me) don't like this movie.
