Very strong.

I once read the book Chimeras by J. Bernlef, which you can call a literary version of this film. Both in that book and in this film, it is about the degeneration of the main character in which past and present begin to intertwine. Ultimately, the person no longer knows who he is.

That book goes just one step further, with language also starting to fade and the main character starting to talk incoherently.

Anthony Hopkins plays frighteningly well in this film. You could almost say that you hope that the acting is sometimes a bit over the top, because it comes across so convincing and realistic. Hopkins does play a guy who can be quite charming, intelligent and funny and that makes the film extra wry. The film is very realistic and therefore somewhat horror. The film also speaks to you personally.

You can end up in a home, confused with strangers around you that you don't know, and all alone and there you die without remembering your own life.

I've been reading this site for years, but just created an account, especially for this movie.

I expected it to be a very emotional film, a real tearjerker.

It wasn't. What was it? a very interesting alzheimer - simulation movie. Every time you think, now I get it, and then again it's not right. Afterwards you realize that you have just experienced how confusing it is to have Alzheimer's.

Beautifully acted, well told, and very realistic. Also "funny" how you can tell such a special story with presumably low costs, no difficult sets, just people and a story.

It really makes you think, how would I deal with this if the same thing happened in my family?

The film doesn't last ridiculously long, can be watched by basically everyone, and I don't think it will disappoint many people. Highly recommended!
