I found horror as a genre designation a bit misleading.

I would rather call it a mystery/thriller/coming of age drama.

Nicely done with the time changes between the 1940s and 1970s in a small-town American village. The regular switching between time periods gives the film the necessary dynamics and tension.

If you let go of the idea that it is a horror, you will have a nice film experience of only 85 minutes.

There isn't much horror and fantasy; and then the comparison with Stand by Me I would rather go for drama/thriller. The genre designation once again makes no sense and is misleading. I must admit that a very special gloomy atmosphere is created here, which is somewhere between a mourning drama, a crime thriller and some mysterious elements that are deliberately included to strengthen the atmosphere. For a low budget film that was shot in a few weeks, I thought it looked professional with some nice shots. The puzzle pieces gradually fall into place and as a viewer you ultimately realize that nothing is what it seemed .

it's really all mystery this movie.

the progression, the story and the many many flashbacks.

The entire film therefore has a constant mysterious atmosphere.

that's it all.

so leave it alone...
