A few weeks ago, she asked if we could go to a game. At first, I wasn't thrilled with the idea. Crowds, events, and big happenings have never really been my thing. My first thought was the traffic, the logistics, the time away from work, and all the reasons it would be easier to stay home. But then I realized something. Time moves like a river. For most of my life, work, entrepreneurship, and building companies have taken precedence. Those things matter deeply to me, but so does family. Then she told me she really wanted to see Spain play. Suddenly this wasn't a train ride into to MetLife Stadium. It was a plane ride to Atlanta. Once I decided we were going, I was going to make it happen. While walking through Mercedes-Benz Stadium, she stopped and pointed to a billboard that read: "Take Your Goals Seriously." The quote was from Freddie Falcon, the Guinness World Record holder for the highest indoor rope swing drop. Simple advice, but powerful. Dreams become goals. Goals become plans. Plans become action. And action creates memories, businesses, relationships, and lives worth living. My dreams of family and entrepreneurship remain as important to me today as they were when I started my first company. No matter what you've achieved, never stop creating new goals. Never stop pursuing what matters. And never stop making time for the people you want to share the journey with. Thought for the week, take your goals seriously. And keep flying toward them. #Leadership #Entrepreneurship #FamilyFirst #FIFAWorldCup #Goals #GrowthMindset #BusinessLeadership #Legacy #PurposeDriven #MSITheAgency #DreamBig #KeepFlying #SuccessJourney #LifeLessons #LeadershipMatters

As an adopted child whose father worked nights to put food on our table, I never imagined I'd one day own a country home, run a winery, and help my husband live out his dream of crafting a high-end wine in the Hudson Valley. I understand why now. From the moment I was adopted, I was told I'd been given a gift -- family, a future -- and that the gift came with a responsibility: use it. Have impact. Pay it forward. Lead with passion, purpose, and humanity. That mantra has shaped my entire career. For years, my husband -- a mathematical physicist turned attorney turned banker -- sacrificed for my career, raising our daughter while I commuted for Nike and later moved to St Petersburg, Florida to take the CEO role at HSNi. He never complained. But he had a dream too: a high-end wine from the Hudson Valley, on par with the best of France. New York wine had never been taken seriously at that level -- he believed climate change was changing that. It was my turn to give back. So, we entered a world we knew nothing about -- soil science, tractors, infra-red heating - the art of winemaking. Fifteen years later, Elysabeth Vineyards at Canoe Hill -- named for our daughter -- produces one of New York's highly-regarded wines, in top restaurants across multiple states. Boutique by design: 600 cases a year, max. It hasn't been easy. We've lost entire harvests to a single May frost -- no grapes, no revenue, but a team that still needed support. That's business. And lately, disruption isn't the exception -- it's the rhythm. Through it all, one thing hasn't changed: lead with humanity. Think of others. Find solutions. Don't lose the joy. Celebrate the wins. There's beauty even in hard times, if we remember what matters. And at the end of the day -- there's always room for a toast to the future. Amy Buckalter liked thisAmy Buckalter liked thisGot to attend #SXSWLondon a few weeks ago. As a big fan of the OG Austin conference, I wasn't going to miss seeing how London interpreted the brief. There's no opportunity quite like "south by" to absorb new ideas from leading experts in a variety of fields, in beautiful venues (Shoreditch Town Hall WOW). True story: the seeds of my interest in local government and place-making were sown when I heard Amanda Burden speak about converting Manhattan's cement plazas to green space, way back in 2014. That kind of learning sticks. This year I learned about Swimmability from London's deputy mayor Mete Coban MBE and what it takes to introduce step-free access to a 150-year old tube station from Will Norman. How Copenhagen is reclaiming land from the sea to address housing shortages, how new arts spaces like Soho Place must be part of a city's evolving fabric alongside high-rises. A leader I admire recently said "embodied experience" is the thing that will ascend as AI takes on more of our routine work. That landed. The built environment we occupy is utterly foundational to our well-being as humans. The math around livability doesn't pencil in traditional ways. THIS interface of placemaking and finance feels like such an exciting space to explore. Who do you know doing interesting work here? Could be sports, arts, venues, transit. Where are the leading ideas coming from? Who should I know?

Amy Buckalter reacted on thisAmy Buckalter reacted on thisYesterday, I happened to look up in the sky and saw an eagle riding a current of air. No effort. No panic. No noise. Just awareness of the moment. It made me think. Last week I buried a friend. Someone that showed up for me, in a really big way. As I looked around the church, I saw a life well lived. Family. Friends. Stories. Impact. But it also reminded me of something uncomfortable. Potential is not guaranteed. Time is not guaranteed. The future we imagine for ourselves is not guaranteed. Most people think greatness arrives in some grand moment. I don't believe that. I think our lives change in small moments. This is how I live. A conversation. A decision. A risk. A phone call. A choice to go when others hesitate. Last night watching Jalen Brunson. He saw a lane, trusted himself, and went for it. That's leadership. Not certainty. Belief. The older I get, the less interested I am in protecting what I've built and the more interested I am in seeing what's possible. I want to run out the clock. I want to give everything I have. Because one day the game ends for all of us. And when it does, I hope nobody says I played it safe. I hope they say I went for it. Every single chance I got. #Retail #RetailLeadership #RetailGrowth #MultiLocationRetail #StoreOperations #RetailOperations #LocationIntelligence #ConsumerInsights #MarketIntelligence #FranchiseGrowth #StoreGrowth #CMO #CEO #ExecutiveLeadership #BusinessTransformation

Elaine’s journey from joining the organization in 2016 to serving as CFO is a testament to her exceptional leadership. Most recently, she served as the Lakers’ Associate Chief Financial Officer, after holding leadership roles across both the business and basketball operations sides of the organization. Women still hold fewer than 1/3 of executive leadership positions across the sports industry, making appointments like Elaine’s all the more significant. Every time a woman steps into a leadership role in sports, especially within one of the world’s most iconic franchises, it expands what’s possible for the next generation. Congratulations, Elaine, on this well-deserved promotion. And of course... let's go Lakers! 🏀

The FIFA World Cup 2026™ - Canada, Mexico and the United States has arrived, and I cannot wait for Seattle to host six matches over the next three weeks as the world’s biggest sporting event in history comes to our city. To mark the moment, today we raised the Seattle FIFA World Cup 26™ flag atop our city’s most iconic landmark: the Space Needle. It’s hard to put into words what it meant to be part of that moment. As a kid, you’re told to dream big and follow your passions. But the four-year-old playing soccer under the shadows of the Space Needle in Memorial Stadium could never have imagined something quite like this. As a Seattle native, it’s difficult to imagine a more meaningful professional and personal milestone. A sincere special thank you to my teammates and colleagues for getting us here and to this amazing moment. By way of the beautiful game, time to welcome the world to Seattle! ⚽️🌎🏆🙌 #WeAreSeattle #FIFAWorldCup26

Thanks Neil Saunders for bringing the rampant issue of porch piracy to our attention. A whopping 37% of apartment renters have experienced it! In 2024, the value of packages lost to theft was $16B. And NYC has it the worst, with over 9 million incidents and $945M in losses. It's no wonder New Yorkers are amongst the top populations concerned with the issue (56%). What can be done about it? Aside from security cameras and other deterrents, the best option may be to use a parcel locker or pick your package up from a secure location. In the U.S., this trend is growing. According to research conducted by Capital On, nearly 100M Americans regularly use "buy online, pickup in-store" services, accounting for $132.8B in value, or nearly 10% of e-commerce sales. Furthermore, this trend is projected to grow 16.7% annually, much faster than e-commerce as a whole. That's why we're excited about Fitbar — we're helping tens of thousands of online retailers provide the service their customers want... while eliminating the inconvenience and expense of package theft. #ecommerce #packagetheft #bopis #clickandcollect (Shoutout Cindy Klocek for sharing!)

This was a fun discussion with Theresa Hegel from ASI Media. Custom clothing, especially in the Promotional or Uniform space takes patience, discipline and commitment but the results can be extraordinary and very lucrative for Distributors and their end clients alike Fully custom clothing allows companies to tell a unified, holistic story about their brand and provides their employees and fans an opportunity to wear something truly unique. This is what we do at EdwardsX every day. Custom clothing solves many problems that off-the-shelf product simply cant: - Need to match Navy Blue, Teal or Magenta across multiple styles and fabrications? No Problem! - Need to create garments that serve a specialized function that can't be found 'off the shelf'? No Probem! - Need employees to stand out in apparel that is uniquely tied to a brand and identity? No Problem! - Need to deliver 70,000 fleece jackets to a client in in 6 weeks? No Prob... well... lets talk ;) If you are a Promotional Product or Uniform Distributor that wants to create a truly unique offering for your client (and one that can't be easily replaced off-the-shelf), lets talk!
