All in on owned, not borrowed reach. Kingmaker: subscriptions. I’m repeatedly surprised how many companies and creators with massive reach fully rely on platform channels—and don’t even try to convert that reach into channels they truly own. There aren’t many of those. Let’s be honest: it’s basically email and mobile numbers. Social is rented space. Visibility today, volatility tomorrow. One policy shift and your “audience” is a guest list you can’t access. Owned means direct access and durable relationships. That’s where attention becomes an asset, not a metric. Email and phone are the only stable bridges that don’t depend on a gatekeeper. Subscriptions sit on top of that foundation: recurring value for recurring revenue. Retention becomes proof, not a hope. If people renew, the product resonates—no algorithm needed. The myth is safety in follower counts. The reality is safety in permissioned reach: people who opted in, can be reached directly, and come back because the value is continuous. Borrow attention on social. Own it in email. Monetize with product.

It's my birthday today. Cringe. I am cringing because I am actually writing a post announcing this when I usually try to keep my birthday low-key - or at least just expect the people who matter to remember. But that is my own personal journey that I am on… Anyhow… I don't usually make a big deal out of birthdays and I don't love drawing attention to myself, but my team really thinks I should make a post acknowledging it. So…here goes. I have to say I'm loving this stage of life. I've been through so many different chapters. My twenties were about finding my way, my thirties were all about building a career, family, and home. This next chapter feels like a lot of that hard work is paying off. I feel healthier than I've ever been. More grounded. I'm able to prioritize what matters most to me, which is largely centered around my relationships. I understand now what's truly meaningful, and it keeps coming back to the people in my life. I'm not daunted by another trip around the sun. I'm actually excited and inspired by what's to come. There's something freeing about getting to this point where you know yourself better, where you can focus your energy on what really counts, and you don’t care as much about what other people think (hence why I am writing this cringey post). The clarity that comes with experience is worth celebrating. Here’s to the next chapter! caption for photo: celebrating with the Uscreen team in London

I’m hosting a panel at VidSummit next week, and I couldn’t be more excited for this conversation: “The Creator’s Community Blueprint: Own the Relationship, Own the Revenue.” Algorithms change. Platforms shift priorities. But when you own your community, you own your future. I’ll be joined by Kevin Daigle (Theorist Media), Zach Katz (Fixated), Kyle Fuller (BBG), and Jeven Dovey (FitLife Productions) — all building businesses that don’t rely on unpredictable platforms or brand deals, but instead on owned memberships that create real connection and sustainable revenue. If you’re at VidSummit, come hang with us: 📍 Thursday, October 9th 🕑 1:45 pm Who else is going to be at VidSummit? Let’s hang!

🎤 Right before walking on stage to give my first keynote as Uscreen’s CEO, I felt completely fired up. The room was filled with creators and entrepreneurs who are building incredible businesses on their own terms. Many of them I had only met on Zoom before, and suddenly we were face-to-face, sharing stories and ideas. The energy was contagious. Hearing directly from creators about their journeys was the best part. Some talked about building steady, recurring revenue. Others shared how they found the freedom to spend more time with family or lean into what they love most. Each story reinforced why our mission matters so much. My career has always been about helping entrepreneurs grow. At Uscreen, that work takes on a special meaning because creators are building communities, not just businesses. Our job is to give them ownership of their platform, their audience, and their future. Walking off stage, I felt even more excited about what comes next. The momentum in that room showed me what is possible when we bring our community together. This is just the beginning of the next chapter for Uscreen, and I could not be more energized for it.

I’m excited to welcome Jacqueline Berg, who has joined Uscreen as our new VP of Marketing. Jackie brings an incredible mix of creativity, strategic vision, and operational discipline to this role. Throughout her career, she has helped companies grow from early stage to high growth, scaling their go-to-market engines, sharpening their message, and building brands that stand out in crowded markets. For Uscreen, this is a pivotal moment. We’re growing quickly, doubling down on supporting the entrepreneurs and creators we serve, and making it easier than ever for video entrepreneurs to build lasting businesses on their terms. Marketing is at the center of that journey because it’s how we tell our story, connect with creators, and show the world what’s possible when you own your platform. That’s why I’m excited to have Jackie leading the way, and I’m confident she’s going to make a lasting impact here on our brand, our business, and most importantly, on the creators we serve.

I spent Friday with over 50 creators. This is where the conversations and priorities were... First off, huge thanks to Uscreen for having me at their event. A really interesting mix of people, proving that where theres an interest, theres an audience. Like inception, a niche within a niche, within niche. The conversations.... I expected to hear talk of brand deals, or the looming importance of Black Friday. But the conversations kept circling back to three themes: - Building a business for long term is the priority. Productising their offering. Building multiple revenue streams - Keeping community close is a huge part of that. Without it, the above is much harder. - Even the most organised and experienced admit it’s messy and unpredictable. What struck me most was how brand deals weren’t dominating the room. They were there, they mattered, but they were framed as one piece of the bigger puzzle: building something sustainable. As you pitch something to a creator, this is good to bear in mind! How do you reframe your pitch to talk about helping them build for the long term? P.s Great meeting Ed Ampaw-Farr - super interesting discussion on human behaviour, mindset & more Matt Hughes 👑 🎬 - Exciting times for the TubeFest & more!

Still buzzing from what happened in London last week. 💙 Last week, we gathered with creators, entrepreneurs, and community builders in London 🇬🇧. Some came straight from London, others traveled miles—and yet, in that room, it felt like we’d all known each other for years. Because when you bring like-minded people together—people willing to share their wins, challenges, and lessons learned—something powerful happens. That’s the beauty of Uscreen Connect. It’s not just about memberships, monetization, or strategy. It’s about people. About conversations that leave you inspired, recharged, and ready to keep building. Thank you, London. 💙 Already looking forward to the next time we get together.

Now more than ever, creators need to be intentional about where they build their video membership. Choosing a platform isn’t just about comparing features. It’s about protecting your livelihood. You’re putting your brand, your audience, and your future into someone else’s hands, and that decision matters. Ask yourself a few questions before you commit: -Can I trust this platform to give me stability when the industry shifts? -Will the tools here actually grow with me, or will I be left piecing things together on my own? The video membership space will continue to evolve, but your platform shouldn’t add uncertainty to the equation. You deserve a platform that gives you clarity, continuity, and confidence. At Uscreen, that has been our mission from day one: to give creators a stable, reliable partner, so you can focus on what matters most: growing your community, scaling your business, and building the life you want.
