That’s a wrap on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Breaking Barriers Challenge 2026! We put our "Tech for Good" commitment into action, with Thoughtworkers joining forces with experts from across the tech community to tackle critical challenges for Cancer Research UK (CRUK) and Bookmark Reading Charity. Both teams reached the final three, with the Bookmark Reading team being crowned the winners 🏆 Their innovative AI assistant addresses the UK’s literacy crisis—where 1 in 4 children leave school unable to read well—by scaling support beyond the limits of volunteer availability. This level of innovation requires incredible talent and collaboration. A huge well done to the Thoughtworkers who dedicated their skills and energy to these causes: Ademola Adefioye, Alagu Perumall, Brian Blanchard, Josh Uvi, Katy White, Rav Hayer, Ricardo Teixeira, Usman Sule and Vladimir Davidovic. And a massive thank you to the AWS team for hosting us: Alison Kay, Cheryl Razell, Sophie Herrington and Stuart Gammage. This is what happens when we put technology at the core of society. 🚀
