The Apache Software Foundation reposted this
About a week ago, I gave a talk at Community Over Code in the Cassandra track. The topic was imagining the next 10 years of Cassandra. This was based on a substantial body of research I had already conducted about the database industry as a whole. A few things to think about when looking at the next ten years of data: - APIs and query access are going to homogenize. It has already begun, but watch it intensify. - The winners are going to be whoever can store the most data, reliably, at the lowest cost. - If you haven't been consolidating databases, you will. - Pure play data stores are going to lose relevance slowly and fade to legacy. If you are a Cassandra user, I would love to hear your thoughts on my vision for the next 10 years of Cassandra. https://lnkd.in/gXN2Rr9Q
