About us

Harvest is an industry-leading software company building tools that help businesses thrive. We believe companies succeed by using their time intentionally, and our products support our customers by helping them plan, track, and understand their teams’ time. Harvest was created in 2006 by two small business owners who were looking for a way to manage and grow their web design agency in New York City. What started as a solution for their own company has since evolved into a business intelligence platform embraced by thousands of professional services firms across the world who share the same drive to grow thriving, sustainable businesses. Harvest is an independent, profitable company. We don’t have investors, shareholders, or a board of directors. Instead, our main drive is to serve the needs of our customers, so we put them at the forefront of every decision we make. All of this is made possible by the incredible Harvest team. Our small but mighty workforce sits across 9 countries and 11 time zones, resulting in a rich working environment where diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and opinions inform every discussion and decision. We value self-discipline, scrappiness and a genuine curiosity to learn from one another. Motivated by excellence and collaboration, our people are the engine that fuels our success.

Today, Mark Lewis runs Netalico a 12-person boutique agency that delivers big wins for Shopify customers. What started as a simple need for credible-looking invoices became the operational backbone for everything—tracking utilization, preventing team burnout, and passing AI efficiency gains directly to clients. "What I love about Harvest is it's really scaled with us as a team," Mark says about Netalico's journey. The lesson: Your invoicing tool today becomes your scaling foundation tomorrow. “The creative industry is running on muscle memory.” Carl Smith believes that the world has changed faster than most agencies have adapted. Clients are smarter. AI is everywhere. Tactics that once worked and models that once delivered real value are slowly failing. Join us next Tuesday for a free webinar where the leader of The Bureau will unpack the forces reshaping what it means to run a creative company in the age of AI. We’ll explore why your most significant asset is no longer your service offering or unique process, but your ability to think, adapt, and build systems that learn. We’ll look at what tomorrow’s clients value, why full-service isn’t the problem, and how to shift from effort-based work to insight-based impact. Carl's insights are rooted in curiosity, honesty, and the drive to do meaningful work in a world that won’t stop moving. 📆 Tuesday, July 22 - 11:00 AM EST ➡️ RSVP to Join: https://hubs.la/Q03xrG-Z0

When Planetary's Joshua Gross posted "Your SEO strategy is broken" on LinkedIn, it sparked conversations across the agency community about how AI is reshaping the way customers discover and research businesses. We sat down with the Planetary CEO to dig into what he meant. His insights confirm a fundamental shift: people aren't searching for keywords anymore, they're asking AI tools very specific questions to get the exact information that's relevant to their needs. The challenge for firms? When prospects research you through ChatGPT or Perplexity, you lose valuable search data. Someone could have an entire conversation, get three-quarters through their decision process, and you'd never know you were being considered. Head to our blog to read Josh's full perspective on adapting to this new AI reality and what it means for the future of agency work. https://hubs.ly/Q03xf1hZ0
