🏆 We’re honored that Bandcamp was named Independent Music Champion in association with PRS for Music, at the 2025 AIM Awards. This award celebrates organizations that go above and beyond to support and empower independent music. That mission has been at the heart of Bandcamp since day one. We’re especially proud that our own Aly Gillani, Artist & Label Relations Lead, was there to accept the award on behalf of Bandcamp. In his speech, Aly summed it up perfectly: “Without the community of artists, labels, and fans, everything we do would not be possible. So thank you...” Huge thanks to Association of Independent Music (AIM) for bestowing this honor, and to Aly for representing Bandcamp and the independent music community so powerfully.
Honoured to accept the Association of Independent Music (AIM) Indie Champion Award on behalf of Bandcamp this week. I’m a passionate advocate for the indie music scene, so to have our work recognised by a community I feel so strongly about was a thrill. I’m so proud of the team at Bandcamp - some of the smartest and kindest people I’ve had the pleasure to know. They’ve built something that people genuinely care about which is no small feat. Here’s a clip of (most of) my acceptance speech. Thanks to Gee Davy and the rest of the AIM team for everything that they do.

We are excited to see our own Aly Gillani, Artist & Label Relations Lead at Bandcamp, featured in Music Ally. Aly reflects on why downloads remain so important for independent artists, how fans choose Bandcamp to directly support the musicians they love, and why Bandcamp Friday continues to be a meaningful way to connect artists and fans. With more than 285,000 artists and labels on Bandcamp and over $55M in download sales last year, it is a reminder of the role downloads still play in sustaining music communities. Shout out to Aly for representing Bandcamp, and thank you to Music Ally for the opportunity. Check it out:
Really enjoyed chatting with Eamonn Forde about the value of artistry, why we should be buying each other’s music and all things Bandcamp for Music Ally. Give it a read! https://lnkd.in/eGW2S4RP

Bandcamp Friday isn’t just a moment. It’s a movement. On August 1, fans spent over $3.5 million on Bandcamp. All of it went directly to independent artists and labels. That’s the power of a single day. What makes Bandcamp different is what happens in between. Every day, fans buy music knowing that an average of 82% of what they spend goes to the artist or label, usually within 24 to 48 hours. The next Bandcamp Friday is September 5. But the artist-first model is in effect every day. https://bandcamp.com/
