What a good SiFi should be Indie or Big budget, this is somewhere in between budget wise seems to me. I've been a fan of Michael Shannon for a while his low key earnest style is compelling and he really sells his part. The ending, though not completely unexpected, was quite cool, loved this movie.
I hope it's not true only 2 seasons of this incredibly addictive series. Always seems to happen when there's something good it goes away due to the bottom line. I've always been a fan of Simmons work, his lowkey anti-hero style is always superb this role here is typical of his abilities, in fact it's hard to see flaws in any of the actors, all believable in their roles.I just finished season 1 and can't wait to dive into season 2 even knowing I will Not see a fitting ending, no 3rd season what a pizzoff I could see this concept going on for years.
I like stories about whistleblowers. I think they are true Patriots of which ever country they represent, courageous and moral people. I was somewhat familiar with this story from what I had read as it was happening but the full story is very compelling. The parallels I drew from then to right now are hard to miss which just points out the fact "we never learn" I am an American Vietnam Vet (another war for a lie) and lost 2 good friends in President "Bubba's" War of revenge in Iraq.. We are lied to everyday by our leaders it's as common as breathing, our heroine here, Mrs. Gun, does the right thing by revealing her Govts misdeeds. I applaud the telling of her story a compelling tale of a true British Hero.
