No pun intended - this may feel a bit too religious, too out there when it comes to help, to the sheer craziness of the situation ... but apparently it is based on a real story. I believe that - might not have happened exactly like it is shown here. But at the end of the movie you will be able to see real life footage.

Well I doubt many will be surprised where this will end up - and that includes everyone! Also those who never heard of this story before. What saves .. the movie are the stars/actors in it ... incredible to say the least.

No pun intended - a quite difficult movie to rate and describe ... it is uplifting in a sense, but also quite dark and bleak .. especially the first part of the movie ... it goes down a road ... well if you feel depressed ... I would not be surprised. Don't stop watching though ... there is uplifting stuff ahead.

On the other hand, if you already have issues with what you are seeing .. maybe it's best to stop. Now I had not read the short story this is based on (Stephen King) ... so I can't compare what Mike Flanagan left out or added. Great assemble of actors by the way.

The middle part of the movie ... Tom is doing Tom stuff. And he is telling us: break through ... do not let others mold you and don't just do what is expected ... life is too precious for that. And there surely are even more messages here ... we are little compared in the vastness of the universe ... or existence ... really crazy to think about.

No pun intended - a friend of mine did not like that Superman was quite weak overall ... most know him as almost invincible ... and yet that might make it enticing for some who would not want to watch otherwise.

Now there was a so called political statement made by James Gunn, but as Nathan Fillion said afterwards: It's just a movie, relax. Also Gunn was not wrong, but that is a different story.

The visual effects are good and you are literally thrown into the mix ... and yet it still manages to be a kind of origin story as well. The dog will either be entertaining as hell or annoying as the same thing. Probably both to be honest. Same goes for the Influencer girl - though there is a "higher" reason for her ... well sort of and with suspension of disbelief.

This is flawed but has a lot of charme ... more than those hating it before it was released probably will be able to admit ... not perfect, not Gunns best, but certainly more than entertaining in many ways.
