No pun intended - this is one of those movies that almost play entirely in one location. And it works - there is enough stuff going on to keep you entertained.
And the action (choreography) is really well done! Which is not really surprising consdering Lewis Tan is in this - he probably helped a lot with achieving what we see on screen.
The story is good enough for a B-movie ... the actors are doing their best so we don't think too much and find plot holes - and it works.
I am not sure about how the movie ends (and I don't mean the possibility/prospect of a sequel) ... but it is what it is ... I think the movie could have done things differently, fate wise and all that ... but then again the shock factor may be better or higher for most.

No pun intended - even worse when while you are planning ... well it seems as everyone knows about it. How and why? And many other questions are answered - with some British humor to add some flavor to it.
This was a fun watch - even though it probably could have been told in lesser episodes and time frame ... I was not too mad about investing the extra time - talking about extra time ... listening to the differences between robbery and theft ... and how it is about time spend inside if caught? Well quite crazy stuff to say the least ... if you like real life stuff, I do not need to convince you anyway ... but this might even be for those who are not into these real life docu shows.

... or maybe don't! Actually the movie reminded me a bit of Mean Streets by Martin Scorsese. You have two friends in the movie - here it is brothers! And it makes the stakes higher but also they are really bonded ... they may not like each other. But they will do almost everything for each other.
The editing of the episodes or rather the timeline it chooses can be a bit challenging for some. But it works really like a charm. The two brothers are not good with dealing with money (The money?) ... which makes everything around them way more difficult ... also they do things without consulting each other ... which also causes issues ... but without problems, we would not have a show - now would we? Exactly - so go with the flow and enjoy the really good actors ... and the crazy twists ... might not be the ending you want - not even talking about good or bad - although morally speaking you should lower your standards anyway!

No pun intended - this is not the Taxi Driver you are looking for ... well it actually might be! Very true for one of the characters in this of course. But you as a viewer may be looking for a different kind - less friendly to say the least.
This is a German movie and the drama part is quite high. This is also quite female driven - again no pun intended. There is some ... well "love" that you may find offensive (as in love for the own gender, female and female that is in case I was not clear enough) ... but they all have their own issues ... and making love does not always solve things ... or anything at all.

... it's not Santa in town - but rather two individual who make an unlikely pair. No pun intended - this is Jeffrey Dean Morgan with issues, but his "sidekick" has even more issues ... and demons with him (that voice).
I liked the setup, especially because I did not expect the story to go that way. I thought it'd be way more straightforward ... but we have weird people who do not even like each other at first (yes they are neighbors ... there has to be some sense with the title like that) ... but yes they will grow fond of each other.
The movie is a bit predictable ... but it works the way it is.

If that sounds familiar (M) ... that was intentional (can I still say no pun intended?). We have one of the best known comedic sidekicks of Greek cinema (DIno) in a more serious role. Even though the movie itself can be classified as comedy or satire.
But he is not so much a clown as he is in most of his other movies. Which is also true for Thanasis Veggos - or however his name is written in English. He also was known for playing comedic roles. Actually his last name is a synonym for a special type of clown or situation one can find themselves in ... as in being driven to craziness also. It's tough to describe ... but he also is more serious here.
The movie itself is about perception, but also about society ... and the pressure put upon someone. Also really shows off our main character - a maybe first type of incel - but not so much sexually speaking. Just generally feeling no attachment to "normal" society.
An outsider who finds a home with outsiders - by pure luck (or maybe not so much if you really think about it) ... and by mistaken identity. The pacing is slow, but this is really well done. And has a lot of Greek (Christmas) music in it - also New Years.
I have seen a lot of Greek dramas, never was I aware of this one. I am glad someone dug this up.

No pun intended - it is actually more than that. Kind of like an agoraphobia person packed into a social criticism ... well there is more flashy stuff (as in horror and confusing plot, especially because we mostly see everything (d)evolving from our main characters perspective) ... but there are things that feel like this holds a mirror to what can happen with AI and giving away too much of your personal information.
All that said, we mostly stick with one person, the main character. But we also get one neighbor ... who seems to like to visit her. Played by Alexis Ren, who is a model (Instagram mostly), but she really plays her part as well as anyone can.
The movie and the story are quite confusing as I already mentioned - and the ending caps that off ... if you are not sure what happens ... well it seems to be intended that way - you make your own ending - or you interpret it any way you want ... depending on your ... well I'd say values but maybe just perception ... which is a big thing!

Finding out the truth - I assume this is based on a true story. So no pun intended - this is a slow grind and you really have to dig the pace otherwise you may get annoyed or even bored. That said, as a German saying goes, you could cut the tension with a knife (yes that's how they say stuff here).
We begin with a person being brought into cell, where he is supposed to destroy paper trail ... well you can imagine that he will not entirely do that. So while I was expecting this to be more of a court drama ... it plays mostly in a prison.
But after that initial start we get into the shoes and skin of a newly appointed prosecutor/attorney (general attorney probably might be the right term). And he sticks his nose where the higher ups do not want him to put it.
While not everything is spelled out, you can feel the danger he gets himself in - you are not sure if he knows what he gets himself into - and why he is doing it. Righteous? Morally good? We do hear that a certain individual (whom he interviews) was a big stepping stone and that he believes in justice ... question is: is he gullible/naive enough not to understand he is getting himself in danger? And how will all play out - well you have to watch this to see ... don't expect a big bang either way ... this is really at a snail pace ... which elevates it for some ... and might make it less appealing to others!

Now to preface this: Dave once said " you can get infamous, but not unfamous" (I might have shortened that/his quote) - so I think you understand what I am trying to say. So no pun intended - I like Dave - I don't always agree with everything he says.
But even when I disagree with some of the stuff (his recent comedy "visit" to another country being quite controversial) - he makes some good points. It almost deters into what about territory - when he compares one journalist being murdered to ... way more by another country. But he saves - without a but! You'll understand once you watch the special.
Overall I'd say he has done better comedy specials - period as he says himself. This one seems more focused on a few things. His trip and Diddy being two of them ... and again agree or disagree, you will find something funny in this special ... hopefully to the degree that you can laugh about it.
The one thing I know or at least feel is true: his heart is in the right place. Comedy and humor is a mechanism to work through stuff ... if we can do it ... why not?

No pun intended - Tessa Thompson is really good in this. This felt like a play - like something ... almost classical, kind of epic in a way. And reading on what this is based on (which I did not know beforehand and have not delved into - so am not able to tell you about differences) ... well it all makes sense.
The actors are all really good - and there is a lot of frivolities going on - or whatever you would call them. A lot of things going on - but you'll be able to follow everything. And you will be interested enough to watch through ...

No pun intended - nowadays with technology ... it is easier but also tougher to find a significant other ... even more so when digital tools are used to create not just profiles but "people". Now we have a man on the hunt for the one who he feels is ... the one! Well again no pun intended.
The basic idea is well - but the execution ... not so much. And while the conclusion almost made the whole thing worth it ... there is a special touch to it - that again almost takes everything away! Just be bold and stick with the uneasy thing you were trying to do ... which also was not perfectly done ... but still.
Actors are ok I reckon - just don't expect too much from anything ... learning by doing. Next time/movie will be (probably) better.

No pun intended - this is not just about a home, but about the old one ... now making a movie about immigrants and about how they are received (and perceived for that matter) ... is maybe not the easiest thing to do and make a movie about.
There is already feelings from the crowd - strong feelings ... hopefully you are not into ... I think it is called the opposite of love watching! Now what don't I actually spell it out? Just being careful not to be too offensive - which the movie also is trying. Certain subject matters are dealt with and are touched upon.
Good acting and a decent story (structure) - there are enough surprises to keep you interested throughout for sure ...

Or swinging the wrong way(s) - no pun intended. I try to avoid to rate ... low! Which if you follow me or have seen a few of my reviews you already know - I was close to give this just one star (point, whatever you want to call it). What made me change my mind? The graphics/art that we have in the credits mainly.
Those were really well made. Kudos to the artist - I assume they were not made just for this movie - comissioned or otherwise, but just bought to use. Whatever is the case, the "story" itself is quite forgettable, the performances (a bit of a stretch, still) ... well not memorable either.
Don't judge everyone just for one thing they did - but even though this is short, it is a waste of time on almost every aspect - see my introduction for the exception.

No pun intended - this looks good ... that is the players but also technically (photography and locations) ... you have to dig the reality tv stuff to get on with it. It feels scripted - even if not than those filming allowed situations to happen, that could have easily been avoided.
That said, if there was no drama, what would be the sense in watching anyway right? Exactly ... a surprise appearance is being made by Bushido whom I only knew as a musician (rapper) ... but he seems to know a thing or two (actually quite a lot) about real estate! He's in two episodes and his impact can be felt throughout.
I assume watching this you are meant to root for one party over the other (be it an individual or one of the two teams) ... but watching this it seems that both have their own issues. Be it taking things to lightly to being quite ... well "backstabby" - probably not a real word, but I think it's clear what I am trying to say.
I have not seen too many of these types of shows, but I assume they all have a similar shape/edit ... with all the voice overs, where you're not entirely sure when the interviews were conducted ... but surely shaped and mixed into at the right moments to heighten the suspense ... well if you buy into it ... no pun intended ...I watched all episodes and I'd rather be there and enjoy the weather than anything else ... political stuff aside. Real estate (influencers) is the name of the game ... (there is no need for another season, especially with the where are they now already telling us more than we need to know at the end of episode 6) ...

No pun intended - not everyone likes animals/pets ... our main character is quite important. A connection between two characters - while others try to tear them apart ... in different fashion.
Losing someone is never easy - the question is how we deal with it. And we have different ways to do so. Some try to delete and forget everything - others hang on to every last bit of the person that is gone ... the dog could be called to be part of the latter.
Acting wise you have a more than stellar cast ... this really works especially because of them. Script is also really good ... the drama and the suspension is high enough. Sometimes dialog choices are a bit odd - but mostly to enhance something (especially when it involves the dog) ... dig it or not, it is here to stay - no pun intended once more.

No pun intended - our main character is being played by the woman who also directed the movie ... but there is also some multitasking going on when it comes to the story and the characters.
Mixing humor with some real intense situations (the doctors appointment to name just one, but I could mention the "we are women too" line, which seems banal and almost comical, especially in its delivery, but is quite complex) - one has to dig it, love it in a way.
The main character is very well drawn - I don't want to label this, but one does understand that this is female driven and I would say that is a good thing. The way certain things are described ... if they are not getting under your skin ... I don't know what will.
Then there are the episodic events and nature of the storytelling - you either go with that or you have issues with it. Some characters are thrown into the mix - and they work well into the whole narrative. Reducing the main character into a "cat lady" would not do it justice ... the movie juggles many things and most of the time quite does it quite... extraordinary! If you know, you know.

Or year after year? Well no pun intended - the movie starts off quite strong. But it does slow down a bit - I wouldn't say it gets boring ... but it does lose some of the drive I felt at the beginning. Not to mention quite the downer ... which is weird to say considering our main character has a "curse" ... but that comes off as funny.
The name thing feels a bit hostile ... it is not meant like that and it does manage to keep it light .. .which it has to. We're talking romantic comedy in the end, right? The actors do their best and their are really charming ... in the end it depends if you are into that sort of movies.

Well when I say I ... I mean the media and the public in general I reckon. There is so much going on here ... and the satire part as described by other too is quite big. It may even feel way bigger than the movie itself ... so big that the movie might not entirely be able to do it justice.
The director never was able to see the finished movie - he died after the movie was shot and as I understand others were responsible for the editing of the movie and the footage.
The actors are really good in this - the daughter ... well you should see her in other stuff she has done! She is amazing - you could not really tell by her short appearance here. But there is not enough time for all people to have their moment.
Would the director edit it differently? Tough to say in - so just enjoy this version we got to experience. The main actor is amazing and the media satire is big in this one - there may be some underwhelming (especially towards the end), but overall the positive stuff is winning ... in my humble opinion.

Or Daddys Girl ... in the family sense of course, nothing other than that. So no pun intended as always. Not without my daughter the updated version ... which is way more complex then the other movie.
The other one was based on a novel I think - this on the other hand is based on a real story without a novel ... and was written for the screen. I may be wrong about a novel existing too in this case. Let me preface here and say that I am a fan of Kate Beckinsale - she had a difficult personal year ... and this definitely is not her best movie. That said, I was able to be entertained and I understand what they were trying to make.
I felt this was sold more on the action side (which is less true), but the movie and its story goes places that might not be based entirely on true facts and stuff that happened ... but it makes for an interesting subject matter and twists along the way.
She is a good actress but at times I feel she was either let down by the scenes or the script - her breakdown (after the inciting incident) not to mention how the disappearance is cut and edited ... well it could have been done better.
As other have said, it feels like there is a bit of emotion missing ... or a lot. Which is weird considering the subject matter ... even more so considering how much of ... well you have to watch the movie to appreciate the real person I reckon ... maybe reading an article about her will do more justice to her work.

Maybe just high anything? No pun intended - I was quite surprised when the movie started and we were in outer space ... I double checked if I was watching the right movie ... yes I was ... well "right" ... one can argue about that I reckon.
All that said, I would not hold this against anyone involved in this. The general story is quite interesting ... but there is just too much stuff that goes awry ... wrong ... down to use another pun. Still there have been worse movies out there ... another pun? Anyway, the movie tries and is short ... that's at least good, right?

Is this just fantasy? Well maybe both - puns/lyrics aside (and as always no pun intended of course), this is aimed at teenagers, so I reckon if you are not in the age group, maybe you should try to avoid watching this.
Of course if you are into the whole love/romantic thing (with "rivalries") ... well you can give it a go. Age group is one thing, but this probably also is more done for girls (women). Just bare that in mind in case you feel that this is not your cup of tea.
Acting is ok, but the constant on and off stuff can be quite ... stressful. Maybe hot too if you are into that. There is some steamy stuff in this, but if you plan on watching this for that reason ... better not ... it is more teasing than actual .. well you know what. Not to mention that there is a lot of ... "blocking". Cold showers can be way more fun than this.
Again not trying to dissuade to watch it ... just making sure you know what you let yourself into.

No pun intended - the reference (about an individual being back is being addressed in the movie too). And he tries to go with the time - well he still can't help himself ... a lot of things he gets into, that a normal human being would be able to avoid. So there are elements here that remain offensive - but don't fret and don't worry too much ... the world evolves and things have to be pointed out - and this walks this thin line as good as possible.
We would be amiss if we don't acknowledge that. Like in this case ... and the old gang is back overall. It's I reckon fun to see everyone again and they really get back into their role/character quickly.
And as a viewer it is easy to find oneself back in business ... another pun I reckon ... enjoy this and especially the fourth wall breaking people! Not every joke is on point and there are sensitive themes (not just what is talked about, but one especially extreme theme Stromberg himself goes through ... which is a cry for attention ... which also is true for almost anything he does of course).
Fans of the original show feel betrayed ... well I can't take that from you. Just be aware that there is evolution - but it mostly happens outside Stromberg and his perception. As much as he tries - he still is a fossil ... which you'll either love or loathe ... Christoph Maria Herbst is spot on! Hopefully you can see that - again no pun intended.

No pun intended - I watched this back in the day when it came out. I did not remember it well ... again no pun intended. But this is really well made - I think I read back then that the movie was (loosely) based on "fiddys" real life story.
This also has quite the stellar cast - Terence Howard - back then he was quite hot too. Viola Davis - I am not sure she was as recognized then as she is now. She is amazing as ever of course.
This may not be Scarface, but it does work ... story is well told and there is no time to overthink stuff ... it just happens.

No pun intended - also the Jerry Springer show was not compared to a video game, but to Wrestling ... which to a degree was true I reckon. Only that Wrestling usually is way more thought through ... and the fights look way better.
I was never a fan of the show, it was notorious to say the least. For all the wrong reasons ... but it is fascinating how the makers and people who were involved in the show look back on it. They still feel like they are misunderstood .. I feel that it is more telling of some of the people what they think and what they feel the shows impact has been ... even Springer seems to have felt the need to apologize in the end ... unfortunately he was not alive anymore when this was done ... would have been really great to hear him now ... his last words on the matter seem to suggest as I already said though, that he finally understood what negative impact the show had ... on society and TV ... but it is what it is and we can't turn back time.
I am not going as far as to say that certain leaders have benefited on Springer shows tactics ... this is madness and has nothing to do with Sparta ... the docu-series is very well researched and edited ... doesn't feel like there is much fighting that went into that ...

Some write it, some do it and/or some do it. No pun intended - and then we get some documentary telling us all about it. I am not sure if this is the most interesting story or rather the most worthy to be shown or made a topic of. But it is here and it was on Netflix (a place online to watch movies for those in the distant future who found this somehow) ... and so why not watch it? Exactly.
This is well researched, has enough interviews and backstories to hold up to scrutiny ... and it really is engaging ... plus very well edited together. It works nicely, suspense and all - you may even have certain feelings about the individuals involved.
