No pun intended - if you are responsible for the well being of another human being ... well you should take that job serious. On the other hand if you yourself have mental ... let's call them issues ... well it can be hard to say the least.

An interesting concept and thriller overall, with some neat little twists and turns in the story. Actors are more than decent and there are enough scares to keep you going ... story wise it is ok too. For a low budget effort well done - at least from my perspective.

No pun intended - when the Fantastic Four were announced I was a bit surprised by the casting. Especially since I sort of grew up with Chris Evans, Alba, Gruffud (hope I am writing this right) and Chiklis.

But having watched this now, I have to admit, they really are more than fitting. Now I understand at least some of the criticism ... there is not much we get to learn about the four. About who they were (as in character/personality wise) ... not before their space flight neither after. Maybe comics fill in the blanks - I am not fluent in those.

We do know the family, the in law status and all that. Reed is into math ... Storm is the protector ... her brother is a womanizer .. and our rock ... well he seems to be lonely. So there are certain things that shine through. But this is a superhero movie ... do not expect too much nuance or character delving.

There is still enough for us to sink our teeth in. Also the family dynamic and especially the baby coming ... so many funny scenes. Anyone who is a parent or has seen the struggles (baby proofing) knows what's up ... one of the funniest scenes is towards the end and has to do with ... let's say car safety. It's a struggle alright.

The actors are incredible - and the action when it sets in is awesome too. We will have to do with almost a whole year without any major super hero movie in theaters now ... Spiderman is the next one. Though that does look like it will be sort of a stand alone ... something this movie could have been too.

During the credits we will see a scene that is foreshadowing things to come. After the credits ... well it just seems like a fun little add on - nothing major there (at least at first glance) ... during the movie ... well this is on a different Earth ... so their timeline and their technological level is different from ours. Many different things from different time periods ... be it cars or other pieces of technology. I don't recall seeing anyone with a cell phone for example. Cameras from many decades ago ... probably from the beginning of their comic origins.

Fun to watch and not much needed beforehand ... knowledge wise ... but it feels like this is the beginning of something ...let's hope it is something big (bigger than Galactus? Well we'll see)

Well not really, but you get what I am trying to do here, so no pun intended as always. This tries to portray and engage with the subject matter quite delicate ... but still in the disguise of a thriller.

Is what you're seeing real? Or what is real and what is not sort of way. It is well played - but something is missing to really give this the push it may need. It's decent overall in my book, but may be a bit too slow moving for most people I reckon. Also read after watching this, that this is the first feature done by the director ... well not a bad place to start ... well it is literally speaking, but ... well no pun intended to cap this off.
