This was very enjoyable to watch. It looks so effortlessly beautiful, very calming, very nostalgic of some simpler times, great costumes, wonderful actors.. I have no complains. It was done with a lot of humor and slight romance, and it has thriller who-did-it main component. I really enjoyed watching the series.
It wasn't same as novel, mind you, but adaptation was quite well done. Location is lovely, I enjoyed costumes and a little bickering between two main characters who had nice chemistry.
Actors are great, I especially like short appearances of Emma Thompson and Hugh Laurie and two main actors were equally great.
Recommended.

This movie is cheap, it looks cheap and probably it was very cheap. The fact that it still became cult classic is saying something. It's original, it's fun, it has horror, humor, gore, everything! This is a fun, low budget horror that's everything you've ever wanted out of low budget fun horror.
Actors are quite good actually. I liked how the actress played Sheryl and Scotty was great, Bruce Campbell was a little wooden but got better in time, later in sequels and became horror legend, for a reason. The effects are cheap and hand made but effective. I am not mad at it.
For lazy, night horror fun, have a look!

I mean, the title, the actors, the main actress.. all the signs are there. It's exactly what you would expect. Lets be honest, Amy Schumer is not actress of great range, she is a comedian, playing in crude, rude comedies. She does not pretend to be anything else. And that's fine. The title says exactly what kind of movie you should expect and in case you are still not sure, there is a synopsis. I don't understand why people are surprised. It's like buying an item at dollar store and being disappointed with quality. The movie is what it is. Get real people!
On the positive side, it looks nice, sunny, bright colors, cheerful, silly, kinda relaxing (see what I did here?), non-threatening movie to relax and not think much. Actors are mostly good comedians, but Chris Geere is severely underused. His acting skills are much better than roles he gets. Will Forte is fine, he, as Amy, plays his usual character. And that again is what you should expect.
On negative side, weeeeell, it's not really funny. It's more like silly, rude, crude humor and unexpected situations which would never happen in real life. It's not really funny, it's more like gag comedy, like "fart jokes" etc. Characters are mostly undeveloped and have no dimensions as people. It's also risky humor to be honest.
But, the movie is kinda fun to watch. If you are not easily offended or don't have trauma that could hurt you by watching, it's ok, I guess. There is some kind of message here, like in "I feel pretty" where the message was (I think) that if you have self-confidence that's all that matters. I guess here some message is that we all want to be a part of some group, to be accepted, even if we have to invent all the reasons to fit in.
The key is, this movie does not pretend to be something else than it is. It's Amy Schumer and Will Forte. The title is obvious. It delivers what is promised. What do you expect?
