Im an old predator fan. I've enjoyed the good and the bad of the franchise, but I recognise it hasn't all been amazing. In my books this counts as one of the very best ones. The setting and atmosphere is immersive. The predator is menacing and scary, and they give him a great feeling of physicality and power as you see him bound through the forest shaking trees and kicking up dirt. The humans triumph not through sheer force, but through realising the predators limitations and working smarter not harder. Yes there's some suspension of disbelief required, but it is a movie after all.
Ignore all the negative reviews from people who are upset a young non- white woman manages to be the hero of the piece. These have to stem from an incredible insecurity on their part. Seen without prejudice the movie is pretty epic.

I ask the question in the title because it seems that at the point in history in which this show is set, everyone is still whispering. It must have been an amazing day when someone finally yelled out HEY! Speak up people!! I'm all for historical accuracy but come on.
It's not a bad show.. monsters are scary, atmosphere spooky, the story is ok but perhaps a bit drawn out. The let down is this constant whispering in every piece of dialogue. Sometimes a hushed tone would make sense, but not in every damn scenario.
Could have been fantastic, but the constant whisper fest sadly brings it down to a 'almost didn't finish it'

I see a lot of reviews for almost everything these days where people complain about PC or political agendas being pushed down their throats. Things are "too woke" etc.. I don't get those complaints. Im not American or small minded, i don't see critiques of my world view reflected in every media.. I don't care if every character is a gay disabled hemaphrodite with brown skin etc..
What i do care about is a compelling story. Drama, not melodrama, in service of that story. Fun or interesting characters and an interesting consistent world for them to live in.
This was just teenage melodrama and 'broody' exposition. 30 plus minutes of almost constant talking and the plot is still stuck in the stalls. The premise has potential, but is about as generic as they come.
I've seen people say it gets better.. I might give it one more episode, but seriously life is short and there's tons of better shows
