I'm a teacher and I think this is funny. There are so many things that they say that I'm sure many teachers actually feel. The "politics" behind public education are shameful, and these ladies highlight some of those ideas. Is it the most realistic show- not by a mile- but that's why it's funny. It makes me think of Kids in the Hall or Baroness von Sketch Show.
This show is literally one of the funniest shows on television. My wife is a teacher and Teachers basically crushes it with the personalities she works with. Can not recommend it more highly. It's a fantastic show. It really picks up in Season 2 and just kills it with every successive episode. Check it out.
This show never took itself too seriously. I think season three will be it's last, but it ended on a good note with a sweet finale. Every episode is raunchy, fun, and witty. I know the show got a ton of hate for being on TV Land (a "wholesome" network), but I'm glad they took a risk with Teachers and kept it up. Maybe it should have belonged on Comedy Central. There's probably never going to be anything like it on tv again.
As a teacher I did find this hilarious. Everyone has probably encountered a real staff member similar to each teacher (not the extremes, but they're there). It's a raunchy comedy for sure, so obviously not ok for kids. Are they role model teachers? Absolutely not, but it is funny and the teacher's lounge conversations crack me up.
