Animation is the essence of anime; manga is a set of still panels that are put into motion in an anime. In a day and age where having movements and attacks look cool is the norm, there are some anime that fall too far short of the expected standard. This might have happened from the very beginning, or it might have been a rushed effort due to time constraints.
Be it the long-time legendary Berserk of Kentaro Miura, or the recent adaptation of popular webnovel The Beginning After The End, they all have had clear flaws in their animation. Whatever the case, here is a list of ten anime that have animation that is far worse than that of anime made several decades ago, hurting fans who dare watch them.

Some of the best anime are well-received by generations of fans, with these viewers going back to watching them years and even decades after they first aired. Given their success and popularity, these anime have received multiple seasons and even sequels. Unfortunately, these sometimes pale compared to what came before, resulting in anime that are downright diabolical in their horrendous quality.
The worst anime sequels and follow-ups make their predecessors unwatchable in retrospect, regardless of how good they were. Some of these are second or third seasons to anime that were well-liked, but in the worst cases, their sequels released much later that completely fall flat after years of hype.

Anime has many notable powerhouses that have muscles upon muscles. Many of these characters represent the peak of human capabilities and beyond. Yet, not every anime physique can be replicated in the real world. Characters like Naruzo Machio can hide their gargantuan physique with just a shirt. While this works on an anime level, it makes zero sense in reality.
Several of anime's most popular shonen anime feature body types that are questionable. Many One Piece characters could be accused of skipping leg day, but this is most apparent in the villain Kaido. His hulking torso and arms do not match the shorter stature insinuated by his smaller legs. Many popular anime characters have commendable physiques, but several aren't remotely attainable in the real world.

In fiction, characters are usually mortal both because it's realistic and to create vulnerability in relatable characters, most of all the protagonists. Immortality is rare, since an indestructible character cannot create suspense or tension about their survival, but some anime series still found ways to entertain fans with immortal character who defy death itself. Immortal characters are thus less like characters and more like plot devices.
Heroes, villains, and neutral third parties have all found ways to transcend death as immortal beings, with some being born/created that way and others attaining immortality by some means. Those unkillable characters sometimes enjoy living forever with no fear of the end, while others wish for their long lives to end somehow, and yet others don't even give it much thought. Some immortal characters are deities or forces of nature, so they're never bored or frustrated with eternity — it's the norm for them,...

When Solo Leveling began, Jinwoo Sung was the weakest Hunter in the world, but after being granted a second shot at life by The System, he has become stronger than most S-Rank Hunters. Jinwoo mainly uses daggers during combat, but he can wield other weapons if needed. Solo Leveling offers plenty of powerful weapons, but there are several weapons from other anime that would also make Jinwoo stronger.
Most of these anime weapons are blades that can wipe out multiple opponents at once. One weapon, in particular, is entirely elemental based. Another weapon might seem unconventional, but it can kill anyone with a stroke of a pen. All of these anime weapons are dangerous, but certain weapons would give Jinwoo the power to destroy anything.

Yuto Tsukuda, the creator of Weekly Shonen Jump's hit culinary comedyFood Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma, recently promoted an up-and-coming fellow Shonen Jump IP. The manga in question is Shinobi Undercover, a zany action-comedy revolving around a ninja and a high school girl.
Tsukuda's new recommendation was shared by @WSJmanga, an unofficial Shonen Jump news hub on X (formerly Twitter). Shinobi Undercover, which was created by Ippon Takegushi (story) and Santa Mitarashi (art), revolves around a ninja named Todaka who lives and works in modern-day Japan. One day, he is ordered to protect a cheerful but klutzy high school student named Aoi. In order to be a proper guard, he masquerades as Aoi's fellow classmate. According to the X post, Tsukuda is particularly fond of the "moe" (cute and/or innocent) attributes of the lead character.

There’s hardly anything that exhilarates anime fans more than when a beloved, highly acclaimed series gets a sequel. In the competitive, saturated climate of modern anime, not every seasonal show is guaranteed an opportunity to return to screens, with even fewer older classics standing a chance to receive a continuation.
However, one thing worse than an excellent series never getting a follow-up is a poorly executed sequel that leaves fans disheartened and disappointed. Failing to live up to their predecessor’s greatness, the worst anime sequels, at times, are nothing but a letdown, featuring none of the virtues that made fans fall in love with the original. Be it due to uncalled changes to the source material, a drop in production quality, or narrative incompetence, these anime sequels fail from beginning to end.

Every advanced Quincy technique is at his disposal, and his Spiritual Pressure is immense. The Almighty allows Yhwach to see into the future and alter it, but it provides additonal god-like powers as well. With these powers, Yhwach can easily defeat notable heroes from other anime series.
These anime heroes do not stand a chance against The Almighty, because Yhwach can make himself immune to their abilities or dodge all of their attacks with perfect precision. Kenpachi Zaraki is one of the most popular characters in Bleach because he is a brutal warrior who loves fighting strong opponents. He is the Captain of Squad 11, making him one of the strongest Soul Reapers in Bleach. David Lodge voiced Kenpachi in the English dub from 2006 to 2012, and Patrick Seitz has been voicing him ever since. Over the course of their careers, both David and Patrick have provided voices for several notable anime characters.

On October 27, 2024, two districts in the state of Tennessee called for the removal of various manga titles from school libraries. The series, among which are beloved franchises like Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, and Attack on Titan, were deemed inappropriate for children. The government officials who approved the mandate determined that the manga series violated the state's Age-Appropriate Materials Act.
Followers of these great series immediately took to social media to share their displeasure with this decision. With more events like this occurring lately across the United States, fans are left wondering what will occur next to their favorite franchises. While things might look gloomy now, there is little evidence that anything major will occur with anime and manga beyond this point.

Scores of major manga series have been banned in Tennessee as new laws are enacted across America that remove "offensive" books from libraries.
Via Ann, Chalkbeat reported this week that Rutherford County district has instructed its librarians to remove over 150 books from schools pending an investigation about whether they violate Tennessee's Hb 843. Hb 843 mandates that books in school libraries "must be suitable for the age and maturity levels of the students." It would ban books that contain "whole or in part nudity, descriptions or depictions of sexual excitement, sexual conduct, excess violence, or sadomasochistic abuse," are "patently offensive" or "appeal to the prurient interest" for students in kindergarten through K-12. The books currently banned while under review largely span LGBTQ+ topics, books featuring drugs, sex and violence, graphic novels, and action and Bl manga. These include Roots: The Saga of An American Family by Alex Haley, which was adapted into the popular TV mini-series,...

Vegeta's most iconic line in Dragon Ball Z's Saiyan saga is one every anime fan has heard, and it wouldnt be possible without the concept of Power Levels. As Dragon Ball's action took a turn from grounded martial arts tournaments to the epic intergalactic battle royales of Dbz, measuring each fighter's power became more complicated than ever and Power Levels were Akira Toriyama's answer to that problem. Using the Scouter technology, the Saiyans could measure the Ki output of their opponents in terms of simple numerical data called a Power Level, which made sizing up their enemies that much easier.
While Power Levels did help in raising the tension of some of the earlier battles in Dbz, by the time Goku became a Super Saiyan, Power Levels were well into the millions and only made measuring...

The Tower of God anime debuted in 2020 as one of the first Webtoon original anime series and quickly garnered praise from the anime community for its stunning visuals and animation. While nothing particular stands out from season one, the animation itself was crisp and the pacing for fights was tight, given the broad number of character abilities and flashy set pieces that were featured in the anime's first season.
The same cannot be said about the shonen's second season, however. Season 2 of Tower of God started out fine, but as the episodes progressed, the quality of each episode's animation and visuals fell to such a degree that most major fight sequences or moments of quick action have been ruined, which makes the overall viewing experience unwatchable at times, even immersion breaking.

The Seven Deadly Sins was one of the most popular manga and anime franchises of the 2010s, and it rode the path of success that reignited global interest in these mediums. Featuring a fairly typical adventure-based premise, it was successful in all of its forms. Thus, it's no wonder that it's gone on to receive a sequel series, which is already three years old.
Four Knights of the Apocalypse is the follow-up to The Seven Deadly Sins, though some fans are unaware of how the two series connect. Going on to find success in its own right, the manga series already has an anime adaptation that recently concluded its first season. With the show set to return later this year, fans will want to know how the events of Four Knights of the Apocalypse are tied to those of The Seven Deadly Sins.
