    I suspect fraud also

Building on the first user review "I suspect fraud," I too suspect fraud. When I purchased it from Amazon Prime on demand, I too did so based on an extremely high IMDb rating - 8.4 in this case.

Almost as soon as I started watching it, I realized something was wrong. I asked my intellectual, millennial son to start watching with me on the chance that the movie was meant to be ironic, - so bad that it would actually be funny. It was not. We struggled to keep with it for about half the movie but gave up. I thought perhaps the high score was due to there being only a few ratings. I was later surprised to find 90 ratings on IMDb but only the one review.

I don't know all the terminology of professionally made movies, but the sound (much echo), cinematography, editing, transitions, - everything was terrible. I might say it had the quality one might expect from a college film project but that would be too harsh to college film students.

I don't know who these actors are (the description touts them as an "international cast"), but to a person, the acting was terrible. I would agree with "wooden" as the other review labeled it.

My favorite line: the psychiatrist takes the five patients to a massive, historical stone fortress that is the same as the one in each of their dreams. One patient exclaims: "It's exactly the same. Did you have them build it?"

I don't need my money back; I'll chalk it up as an experience. It prompted me to write my first IMDb review so I'll settle for the feeling of self-righteous satisfaction in warning off others smart enough to look at IMDb before renting the movie.

Fraud on the Fraud reviews calling the ratings fraud

I'm not quite clear as to why there is such negativity about this movie. It's quite original with it's location, international cast, which it actually does have. The sexuality orientation or the black- male character, which you never see in movies let alone horror movies.

The effects and plot of the movie kept me well drawn in from start to finish. The fight scenes were excellent and acting well done for an independent movie, which these types of movies have a certain budget. Without wanting to go to much into the movie, since there are strict concern about posting a review,

Either way; the movie was excellent! and well deserving of the 8.7 stars. Highly recommended!

    I Suspect Fraud: Chapter 3

I have honestly seen better acting in pornographic movies. In fact, the crappy far-fetched plot, the stilted acting (and in some cases over-acting) and the "exotic" mansion & location, I had to double check my purchase to make sure I wasn't in fact, watching an X rated movie. Maybe it would have been more interested if I had been though. It felt like an eternity for this movie to end with it's predictable plotlines, horrific acting and inane script. I BOUGHT this drivel (I was probably buzzed) after seeing the positive ratings on IMDB and, at the time, I did think it's synopsis sounded okay. Joke was on me.

    I suspect fraud

How did this movie get rated 8.7 of out 10. It's terrible. Wooden acting, hackneyed plot w/unattractive, improbable characters, inept directing, and the slowest pacing outside of watching paint dry.

Improbable characters seeking therapy for a communal dream are a psychiatrist (who believes in taking her traumatized patients on a junket to war torn Iraq), a black homosexual stud, a reformed porn star actress, a mute artist, a Mister Everyman, and an Islamic jihadist. Don't see many jihadists seeking therapy. In general, I don't think they're that introspective. Sounds like fun? It isn't thanks to the above flaws.

Favorite line - psychiatrist to jihadist, "I don't think joining a terror group is the answer to your problems", delivered by the actress without a trace of irony.

Based on 8.7 rating at the time, I rented this movie. IMDb owes me $4.99.

I suspect the director's friends and the cast and crew are responsible for the favorable ratings. Don't be fooled this movie is terrible.

    Original and Fun!

I read some reviews on scream horror magazine, wicked horror and other horror websites and they were pretty good so I gave it a chance, even though I'm not big fan of Indie Horror's, most of them are pretty crappy. But I was pleasantly surprised, it's defiantly better then most other indie horrors out there. Or even some big budget horror films, being mostly sequels or remakes nowadays, this one is original, different. The international cast is gorgeous, and the characters are not your typical genre characters which was interesting to watch. A ex-soldier, a bisexual player, a ex-porn star, a radical Islamist, and a mute weirdo. The ex-soldier (and main character) was my favorite performance wise (oh yes and he is a very handsome Mexican actor). I also loved the Amira character, without giving away any spoilers, this characters get's it the hard way more then once! it's not too gory but when the gore comes it's almost too much...be warned if you have a weak stomach! And last but not least, awesome soundtrack! I didn't love the editing, I think it could have been wilder, considering the dram/reality, present day/past life theme. Overall, Hollywood should take note, stop spending so much on the same movies and start investing in foreign and/or new artists, not all viewers want to play it safe and watch the same story over and over again.
