    Not a bad start

The show has had a good start with great special effects and production values. But it shows signs of bad writing that could kill the series. The writers need to pay special attention to Barry's unique powers. Scenes where the bad guy is able to aim and shoot Barry while Barry sees them make no sense. Monologing is especially silly. Just hesitating a second is enough for Barry to run around them and knock them in the head. If the villain doesn't totally surprise Barry, then there's simply no way he can get attack Barry. This would only work if Barry's speed was somehow neutralized or if the villain is impervious to Barry's attack, and Capt. Cold certainly wasn't. Barry would never have allowed him to just walk away from a fight.

If the writers can tighten up the use of Barry's speed and the villains and if they can make his father's case for justice more compelling, this could be a great series. Right now it's just Luke warm.

Also, the attraction between Barry and Iris just isn't there. The two have zero chemistry and no compelling reasons for being romantic. No real connection at all except their shared childhood. In fact this shared childhood makes their romance less of a possibility and somewhat unsavory. They are more like siblings than potential lovers.

    I Love This Universe

What's really great about Arrow and The Flash is that just like on nights like this, characters can cross over to the other show and it wont feel out of place. And I'm glad that these shows aren't sharing a universe with the films. It would significantly limit the shows power of storytelling which is what Arrow and The Flash are best at. Onto tonight's show, Felicity was the major highlight and brought out the best in each of the main characters.

We all love Felicity from Arrow along with the quirkiness that comes with her, and to see her once again connect with Barry was great. I love that she still had a significant amount of sexual innuendos just as she does with Oliver. I also completely buy into them both being friend zoned by Iris and Oliver and acknowledging how right they are for each other. Their kiss at the end was bittersweet but may be all we get with them for quite awhile.

Captain Cold was a welcome addition to Flash' rogues gallery, and although I don't know how fond I am of the actor playing him, I know there will be more to come from his character. The West family side story was forgettable especially considering how predictable it was, but in the long run it was necessary. I'm still not sold on Eddie Thawne being reverse flash but they are doing a good job of making us believe he's a good guy before pulling the classic CW bait and switch.

Back at STAR labs Cisco is haunted by the fact that he was the reason for Captain Cold's gun being stolen. If was the first glimpse into how menacing Wells can be to Cisco and Caitlyn and also into Barry failing to save a life for the first time. It was just another great thing that this episode had to offer. The character development has significantly improved over just the course of 4 episodes.

    Perfect Chemistry

"Going Rogue" is yet again a fun simplistic episode filled with lighthearted moments from The Flash. The episode did well on showing us The Flash's lighthearted side and also his serious side.

Felicity Smoak from Arrow makes a guest appearance in this episode and did great. Her chemistry with Barry Allen is extraordinary given the limited time of the episode. The episode made me want Felicity to become a main stay of the show and for her to side with The Flash badly. The antagonist, Captain Cold was a mediocre villain and his motives remain unclear and are yet to be explored. However, it is redeemed with the breathtaking visuals that is seen in each action sequence of the episode. Captain Cold's powers are mainly focused on his gun which obviously can freeze The Flash and it gave way to well executed action and a great battle between opposing strengths. A true highlight of the whole show especially in the episode, the visuals and action get better each episode. Although as episodes progress, the cops become more useless in the narrative. The cops are becoming repetitive, whenever they're on screen The Flash just grabs your attention and they will seem invisible and do nothing worthwhile rather than going in the crime scene.

Overall the most fun episode so far in the series and I would like to see more of Barry and Felicity. Whenever the two are on screen, they are utterly perfect and watching Felicity in Arrow will completely be a whole new experience. +With great chemistry between Barry and Felicity, +Amazing action that really defines what The Flash is capable of, +Breathtaking visuals, -but the Cops are becoming useless as the series progress.

    Verdict: 8.7/10

    Best one. Yet

Going Rogue was undoubtedly the best episode in the series, so far.

    RAVES

+ We got to see various sides of Barry, in this episode. Grant Gustin, does a good job of switching from a playful to serious to romantic side.

+ Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/ Captain Cold. This was one character I was looking forward to seeing, the most. I haven't seen much of Millers work, but I thought he did complete justice to the role. He was great as the antagonist. It's going to be interesting to see how things progress between Flash and Cold

    + Barry & Felicity.

+ The Director and Cinematographer have done a wonderful job, in this episode. All the visuals were quite a treat and the action sequences were highly entertaining

    Rants

Nothing really. This episode was really good.

    And thus deserves a 10/10.

    Awesome

The Flash is a great new show. It's a show I look forward to every Tuesday night. Going Rogue had humor, romance, thrills making it the most entertaining episode by far.

And of course the highlight of the show was seeing the awesome, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold. Watching, Wentworth on screen again was an absolute treat. He was perfect as Leonard/ Captain Cold. Looking forward to seeing more of him on the show. The chemistry between Barry and Felicity was good. All in all a really good episode. Hope the show keeps going like this. And also hoping to see a lot more of Captain Cold

Barry says that e=mc2 is Einstein's formula for kinetic energy. This is incorrect. It is the formula for mass energy equivalence.

Iris West: Are you still gonna tell me that she's not into you? Look at that dress! And when I asked her the boyfriend question, she froze.

Barry Allen: Yeah, you were particularly sly with that one.
