Taro Sakamoto from Sakamoto Dayswas once the world's greatest assassin. His skills have waned a bit since retiring, but he is still a lethal fighter who can dispatch assassins who have been sent to kill him. There are several assassins from other anime who can defeat Sakamoto. Some of these assassins can take Sakamoto down using their speed and stealth, but most of them can defeat him in direct combat.
Despite his overweight appearance, Mr. Sakamoto possesses enhanced strength, speed, durability and reflexes. As a result, he can match most anime assassins in hand-to-hand combat. Fortunately, all the anime assassins who can beat Sakamoto have special abilities which give them an edge. Some of these assassins could incinerate Taro Sakamoto, and one can literally take him down with a single punch.

Many Solo Leveling fans already know how the anime will unfold, having read the manhwa or novels. While the adaptation makes some changes, it still follows the major plot beats. Like most adaptations, there’s a divide between those familiar with the source material and anime-only viewers. However, even without reading the manhwa, fans can pick up on foreshadowing and common theories to predict future events. Solo Leveling isn’t particularly subtle with its storytelling—while some secrets remain, the general direction of the plot and key character fates are often easy to anticipate.
Character deaths play a major role in Solo Leveling. From the very first episode, the brutality of Sung Jinwoo’s world is clear, marked by the sudden, widespread deaths of his comrades. Nearly every arc has reinforced this theme, solidifying the anime’s dark tone. As a result, fans expect casualties—it’s just a matter...

Sung Jin-Woo is the main protagonist of Solo Leveling, and he is well on his way to becoming the strongest Hunter in the series. Jin-Woo gained the Shadow Monarch's Shadow Extraction ability at the end of the first season, and it allows Jin-Woo to resurrect defeated creatures and humans as Shadows. Jin-Woo's Shadow Army is quite strong, and it becomes more formidable each time he adds a powerful warrior. His Shadow army would become virtually unbeatable if he could add characters from other anime series to it.
Most of these anime characters are exceptional melee fighters and swordsmen, but one character in particular can destroy most of Jin-Woo's opponents with powerful magic. Most of these characters can take out A-Rank and S-Rank-level threats, and several of these anime characters can wipe out the Monarchs, an ancient race of monsters who serve as Solo Leveling's main antagonists.

Taking to X on Oct 26, 2024, Wald alleged that Crunchyroll staff had opened his private mail, disposed of letters, and distributed items sent by fans without his knowledge or consent.

In a follow-up post, Wald addressed Crunchyroll employees directly, sharing a photo of one of the opened packages and making a public request for the return of his belongings.

Akame Ga Kill! was a huge hit after its release and is still topping many popularity lists. Fans are still missing the anime that was full of action, striking twists, and powerful characters. There were many great plot points that captivated viewers and after it was clear there wouldn’t be more episodes created, everyone was devastated.
Fortunately, there are a few series that can fill the void because they are just as entertaining and imaginative. While Akame Ga Kill! was a fairly unique anime, there are a few shows which are just as fun and contain a lot of the same pulse-pounding action that Akame is known for.

Shonen is the biggest and most popular demographic in all of anime, featuring titles from every genre and subgenre available. While most classic shonen series follow a similar format, often emphasizing inspirational stories of friendship, adventure, and self-discovery, modern shonen has gone in a much darker direction.
With the rise of "dark shonen," many new anime tell deeper, more thought-provoking stories. Dark shonen series aren't afraid to push the limits, often touching on graphic, shocking, and even controversial topics. From iconic classics like Attack on Titan and Death Note to new hits, such as Hell's Paradise, dark shonen's success is undeniable, and it plays home to some of the greatest anime series out there.

One of the best ongoing stories in anime and manga is Makoto Yukimura's "Vinland Saga." Set in Europe during the 11th century, it follows a young man named Thorfinn, who after having lost his renowned warrior father Thors as a child, has devoted his life to getting revenge on his Viking killer Askeladd. In his blind vengeance, Thorfinn wound up serving under his quarry. As his journey continues and he loses what drove him, Thorfinn learns there's more to being a warrior than wielding a sword.
The manga, numbering just under 200 chapters, is currently in its final stretch. The anime, meanwhile, is currently in its second season. The first season's 24 episodes adapted the manga's first eight-volume arc (out of four major ones), featuring Thorfinn fighting in Askeladd's band during the Danish invasion of England. Season 2 adapts the second arc, where Thorfinn is enslaved on a Norse plantation and must...

One Piece continues to be one of the season's most popular anime series despite being nearly two decades old and that's a testament to the power of a great shonen with satisfying plot development. Of course, the show hasn't always had the best reputation, with many seeing it as inaccessible and a show that requires the viewer to watch an absurd amount of episodes to begin enjoying.
Those who do get into it consider it one of the best ever made though, which shows how misleading a reputation can be. From Tokyo Ghoul and Naruto to Black Clover and Food Wars, these great shonen series don't deserve their often negative public perception.
