    Captivating

Dylan Anglin's Vignettes is an atmospheric and suffocating masterpiece. From the opening sequence which evokes imagery of instant discomfort to the cinematography, every frame of Vignettes is pure cinematic art.

The performances within are solidly rounded and well executed while maintaining multi faced dimensions to each character.

Dylan Anglin continues to prove that his filmmaking prowess lies far above any budgetary constraints, and that he will long be remembered for his talent and his catalogue of features. With Vignettes, he further cements his legacy among the other greats of cinematic history.

    Must watch!

    EXCELLENT

Once again Dylan Anglin and his crew at Smokeydog Entertainment have delivered.

Dylan has assembled a group, as most good directors do, of people he prefers to work with, and the results are always worth waching.

"Vignettes" is well written, the cinematography by Kevin Minor is spot on, as is the acting throughout, editing, music, writing, and direction. Here you will find drama, a few chuckles and some real scares, that all come together to provide a very satisfying watch.

Do yourself a favor and watch "VIGNETTES", and keep a sharp eye out for any future Smokeydog productions. Dylan Anglin has a lot to say and the talent to say it, and before too long he will become a very big noise in Indie Films.

    Incredible

Several intersecting stories revolving around frustration, crime, guilt, and infidelity depict an incredibly dark and complex canvas of human nature. Mixing dark drama, surreal horror, and an eerie atmosphere, this film grabs your attention from the very beginning and immerses you in an imperfect world and the troubled, warped minds that inhabit it. Technically speaking, it is an absolute delight. The unmistakable style of director D. Anglin, along with an incredibly talented cast and crew, elevates the story to unspeakable heights, making this an experience impossible to forget.

    Definitely a must watch. 5/5.

    An amazing experience

Vignettes is an amazing film. The film captures the dark nature of creating horror. Sometimes we take for granted the peace we have as people who do not have to take our minds into such depths. Follow the journey of a writer who in order to write horror, he must first place himself and the ones he loves into his stories. The constant feeling of un ease settles in as you watch this film. So grab a blanket, some popcorn, lock the doors (if you're smart) and set back and try your best to relax as you experience the horror created by Dylan Anglin. Looking forward to any future films that our put out by this production company.

    Something New

After seeing Pesadilla I was sent a review copy for Vignettes, this is an unbiased review.

First I was very surprised to watch another Anglin film after seeing an admittedly strange debut. After viewing Pesadilla and now Vignettes I can say for sure that whether or not you like this director, the voice is getting stronger. I enjoyed (most) of Pesadilla, but I was more intrigued than anything. Actually after watching this, I think I prefer this outing.

Vignettes is genuinely interesting. At barely 80 minutes it manages to suck you in and genuinely had no idea where it was going. I did not like the ending, in a strange and satisfying way. I hesitate to say this, and it's very bold, but I have never really experienced pacing like this. One of the few movies I've seen where I feel like someone is holding my hand and then lets go, leaving me in the dark, only to grab my hand again and me wonder, who's hand it actually is. I want more movies like this, and I respect this vision dearly given it is trying to do something very unique with the anthology format.

The second story is the cream of the crop. It sent shivers down my spine. There will be people who criticize this film given its micro budget, but these ideas are big. They are fresh, they are something you don't see at this scale. Somehow with apparently less than $1000 this team managed to craft a film that looks great, sounds great, and I have a feeling what they do next is going to be special. We all start somewhere and this is a heck of a place to start.
