The Adventures of Candide

Based on a proposed Franco-Hungarian co-produced feature film from the 1980s, which would have been directed by György Kovásznai, who passed away during pre-production. His original notes were used to complete this cartoon, and the bizarre art style was based on the highly abstract animation work from his films, though his character designs were not used and the story was updated to the world of the 21st century. The full 13-episode season became Candide (2018). As opposed to the constantly changing art styles of this test pilot, the completed series had a more consistent visual look.
