From 1896 to 1918, from London to Ekaterinenburg, via Copenhagen, Vienna, Berlin, Sarajevo and Verdun, Frédéric Mitterrand recounts, between a serial novel and a history lesson, the last years of the domination in Europe of the centuries-old dynasties Romanov, Habsburg, Hohenzollern, of which "The Eagles" were the emblems.
