Hulu’s revival of the hit early 2000s sitcom, titled “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair,” revealed its first trailer on Monday alongside an April 10 premiere date. The “Stranger Things” series finale is shaping up to be a major theatrical event.

1.1 million people have RSVP’d to watch the final episode of the Netflix sci-fi series in theaters on New Year’s Eve, according to an Instagram post from co-creator Ross Duffer, who also said that 3,500 showtimes across more than 620 theaters are completely sold out.

Duffer teased that he and his brother Matt Duffer, his co-creator, would be attending a screening or two. “What a way to close out a ten-year journey—together,” Duffer wrote. “Maybe we’ll see some of you in LA.”

Netflix has released the trailer for the “Stranger Things 5” finale, which debuts in theaters and on the streamer Dec. 31.

Titled “The Rightside Up,” the finale is the eighth episode in the show’s fifth and final season. Netflix released the first four episodes of Season 5 on Thanksgiving Day as “Stranger Things 5: Volume 1” and then the subsequent three episodes on Christmas as “Volume 2.”

Volume 2 concluded with Episode 7, where Max (Sadie Sink), successfully brought back to consciousness, reveals archvillain Vecna’s plan to merge the world with a parallel dimension on the other side of the Upside Down, dubbed the Abyss.

"The Mentalist" walks on well-trodden ground. A crime procedural with an odd couple at its center, the broad outline of the characters and their stories will feel familiar to fans of the genre. Simon Baker plays Patrick Jane, the quirky police consultant with hidden depth and a dark past. Robin Tunney plays Teresa Lisbon, his no-nonsense boss, always frustrated by Jane's antics. TVLine is taking stock of the many nods, cameos and crossovers linking "Young Sheldon" to its predecessor, "The Big Bang Theory."

First launched in September 2017, the long-running prequel filled in the details of Dr. Sheldon Cooper's upbringing in Medford, Texas. The AMC Kips Bay in New York City listed 11 screenings as “almost full” on New Year’s Eve alone. The 34th Street theater filled up nine screenings, and Lincoln Square had five showings nearing capacity. The same demand was seen on the opposite coast in Los Angeles, where The Grove packed the house for seven screenings, the Century City AMC had eight, and Universal CityWalk turned out 11. Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia, and more cities where the finale is playing saw similar demand, and all of these sales took place days before showtime. By New Year’s Eve, Netflix’s latest “event” screenings should be even busier.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another,” “Sinners,” “Weapons,” “Frankenstein and “Wicked: For Good” led the 13th annual Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Award nominations.

The films all three landed nominations apiece.

The makeup and hair team behind “One Battle After Another” was nominated in contemporary makeup and special makeup prosthetics. Arjen Tuiten, who was nominated in the latter category, used prosthetic pieces, contact lenses and dentures for Sean Penn’s Colonel Lockjaw in the film’s third act after he survives a horrific car crash.

A teaser trailer features original series stars Frankie Muniz (Malcolm), Jane Kaczmarek (Lois), Bryan Cranston (Hal), Christopher Masterson (Francis), and Justin Berfield (Reese), all reprising their roles from the Fox classic.

Todd Bridges, the last surviving main cast member of Diff’rent Strokes, has paid tribute to co-star Melanie Watson, who died on Friday (December 26). The actress, who played Kathy Gordon in multiple episodes of the comedy, was 57. Watson’s passing was confirmed by her brother, Robert Watson, who told TMZ she had been hospitalized and her condition had deteriorated. She died in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Friday.
