    Cute little off-beat romance

I'm glad I stuck out the beginning of this film, as the early part of it left me irritated; fortunately, it gradually drew me in-- it was refreshing to see a Millenial get his nose up out of his phone and connect for real with a woman! What I liked best about the film was the sense of what it would be like to live in Tokyo; I spent a few days there, and loved it. The street scenes with the neon signs and dense crowding really captured the feel of the city. The cast came across as authentic, and I have to disagree with one of the other reviewers who panned the music-- it too seemed real and appropriate for the story. All in all, a pleasant surprise; give it a chance.

90 minutes of my life I'll never get back

Actually, it was more like 40 minutes. I like to finish movies even if they're god awful, but I just couldn't with this one. Someone needs to invent a warning label to let you know you're watching a student film before you risk sinking time into a potential trash heap of a film. Amateurish writing, stilted acting (Jason London was decent though), preachy, cheesy plot, tired Asian tropes ... yup, this movie has it all. Overall, it was just irritating and unwatchable.

    Light, funny and authentic

I give it a 9. Jason London's performance is wonderful. This movie has a very authentic feel to it. The director used authentic Japanese music/musicians, and actors. I thought it was light, funny and had a good story-line. We tend to get so wrapped up in social media, online, our phones and the film made me remember to live a little and enjoy life.

    Terrible American/Japanese Horror Film

Jonathan Sherr (Tom) is an embarrassment and even worse than this abortion of a "film?" I would have turned off after 20 minutes had it not been for the excellent cinematography. The moments of silence and visions of Tokyo were wonderful but then a minute later you were back to the Hell on earth that is "Love In Tokyo." People don't bump into you on the sidewalks of Tokyo as they depicted twice, as if it's a thing like in Hong Kong. Insulting stereotypes of Japanese women though they did a great job pulling off the Ugly American. I recommend you not waste your time on this trash, you'll have more fun down at the local dump.
