After Divorce, I Built a Fabulous Life starring Kenny Resch as Tyler and McKenna Ginn as Mia is such a fun movie!
Mia is smitten with Tyler, but he's not attracted to her, which leads them to start divorce proceedings. Mia steps out of her housewife role-no longer catering to Tyler's every whim-and lands a job in the design department of his company as a jewelry designer. What follows is a whirlwind of banter, mixed emotions, hatred, possible love, and constant back-and-forth between the two.
McKenna Ginn is amazing in this role-she brings warmth, wit, and depth to Mia. Kenny Resch really grew on me, though there were moments I wanted to smack his character. Jack Snyder, as Connor-the young assistant to Tyler-was absolutely entertaining and stole several scenes.
The movie is fast-paced, at times hilarious, at times moving. While I'm usually not a fan of Skyla Lynne (as I find she tends to overact), she actually gave a better performance here. Her conniving moments were still a bit over the top in places and sometimes distracted from the chemistry between Tyler and Mia, but overall she fit the role better than I expected.
The film is smoothly paced and well-formatted, with McKenna unquestionably stealing the show. I only wish the ending had been drawn out a bit more-it felt slightly rushed. Still, it's a really cute and entertaining watch.
