Kabaddi is a Nepalese romantic comedy film with a delicate dose of drama written and directed by Ram Babu Gurung. The film depicts the broken love tale of Kaji (played by Dayahang Rai) and Maiya (portrayed by Rishma Gurung). The film is set in Mustang, and the filmmaker has done an excellent job of capturing the setting's rawness. Every jigsaw piece fits flawlessly to make the movie a landmark in the Nepali film industry. The drama constantly manages to captivate us, whether through catchy tunes, humorous timing, or narrative twists.
In the Kabaddi movie, Kaji (Dayahang Rai) is a young hopeless romantic who really wants to marry Maiya (Rishma Gurung), but Maiya does not want to marry Kaji. She prefers to further her study in the capital. Kaji has proclaimed his love for Maiya countless times, but she never seems to realize it. Maiya is angered by Kaji's actions and constantly finds a way to disappoint him. With the help of his two best friends BK (Bijaya Baral) and Chantyal (Buddhi Tamang), Kaji never gives up on the love of his life, hoping that one day she will embrace his feelings for her.
The soundtrack of this Kabaddi picture is particularly noteworthy, providing some hopeless romantics with a tune to relate to and some joyful individuals with a song to dance and vibe to. The background noises mix in flawlessly with the film without distracting the viewer.
The Kabaddi movie is well worth every cash and minute we commit to it. If you enjoy romantic comedies, we believe this is a must-see.

Nicely crafted story and great choice of characters to go with it. Kazi was my favorite character, flawless acting I would say. His signature style of fixing his hair cracked me up every time. Usually I don't prefer sappy songs but "Maya khai kasley bujhyo", the only song in the entire movie was not bad at all.
I was not so fond of the curly haired guy (forgot his name, he was the one playing the negative character and smoked weed :D). His acting seemed a bit unnatural and even annoying at times.
All in all really enjoyed it a lot. Even the bloopers at the end were hilarious. Way to go guys!

This movie was new to the Nepali movie industry. Older Nepali movies had over the top action heros and cliched storyline. Kabbadi was unique and is masterpiece by Ram Babu Gurung.
As much as I enjoy Rajesh dai's comical dialogues. This is the way forward for Nepalese movie industry. Cinematography is just lovely, view of Mustang is breathtaking and the screenplay is absolutely amazing this shows how beautiful nepal and its landscape with Himalayan ranges to tarian plane. Very beautiful cinema and culture
Acting for Dayahang Rai nothing short of perfect. Dailouges in the movies are so humorous. "dukhi aatma" is my favorite. Movie has everything you could as for in a movie, perfect mix of great screenplay and cinematography.
I will highly recommend this movie to anyone.
Nepali movie great job.

Nepali movie great job.
This movie is another good example of alternative trends in Nepalese cinema industry. In contrast to traditional stream which is heavily influenced by Bollywood, this movie focuses on typical local story in Nepalese lifestyle. The title "Kabaddi", which literally means a kind of game played between two teams, justifies the story. As the title states, it is a game played between a local tough guy, Kaazi, and an outsider, Bibek, to win over girl Maiyaa. Movie makers have taken an even-handed approach to explain the cause for both parties. The characters chosen seems familiar to a Nepali audience. Enough effort has been made to tell the story in an easy pace so that audience won't feel bored. This movie is a good mix-up of comedy and twists, but rarely splashes the viewers with emotions. Technically, it is a good movie, but it is obviously not a high-tech based movie.
