I like Ricky Greenwood's frequent porn exercises in nostalgia, taking many popular genres of 1970s drive-in movies and recalling them in a XXX format. "Wanted" has him casting Blake Blossom as a female FBI agent in a vintage red Mustang tracking down serial killers out West, with sheriff Isiah Maxwell as her partner, but "True Detective" this ain't.
The story (and any semblance of logic) peters out quickly, as we're treated instead to a series of lengthy sex scenes spotlighting Blake and her co-stars Kylie Rocket and Charlotte Sins. Violence is minimized, and suspense is nil. Director Greenwood certainly doesn't have the benefit of a big budget to stage action scenes or setpieces, as Digital Playground's days of ambitious productions like its million-dollar blockbusters "Pirates" and its sequel are a thing of the past.
