Coming Out

Difficult to write to much about this documentary except, maybe, than it is real useful , honest and pretty direct. At beginning, the idea to use camera for surprise each moment , each reaction , each dialogue was, for me, pretty creepy because, I believe, the coming out is an intime moment. Bute, they are Americans, I am middle age East European so, different perceptions.

The story of a coming out, a young man confessing to friends, family, his sexual orientation and the emotions , reactions, clues for this truth, crumbs from childhood experiences and the love and trust of beloved ones.

It is difficult to write too much about this film because each has his way to create the moment of coming out. His manner, his prepaires for confess and to not surprised by reactions. And this film has the precious gift to remind that in honest manner.

So, a correct crafted documentary, the emotion being the main good point.

Coming Out

This was a very well handled documentary, the very nature of the camera's presence did not greatly effect the honesty of the moment but it did curtail the reactions to the realisation of what Alden was revealing of himself.

The power of the movie lay in the obvious hurt his concealment of his true self had on others and how each then had to take a personal journey to catch up with the person they thought they had known all along, Alden had not thought about this beforehand.

If this movie saves one life by its shining example of honest interaction and familial support in this age of division and separation it will have achieved much.

I would add the editing was great as was the cinematography, and I laughed through a lot of it which was great.
