Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out

I love the old Dr Pimple Popper videos and like watching all the gross, weird and crazy things that people put up with for years on their bodies. (Shame that American medicine won't cover removal of some of these very large cysts etc) The old Youtube clips were very raw and real but this new TV series is much more scripted. Dr Lee will walk into the room with the patients file in her hand and say hi, what's your name and what are you here for? Then seems surprised when the patient shows her a huge growth on their leg or something. Also at the end during the patient talking to the camera the bandages to cover where the removal was done can be quite hilarious and needlessly excessive.

It's a decent show but I wish it was kept a little more real.

Her YouTube videos are great, her first show was great, but now that she has signed on with Lifetime it has become a melodrama-filled freakshow. Every patient seems selected because of some contrived fear, family drama, or just their being part of the "agenda." Thank goodness for being able to record and fast forward to the only content of the show that matters. The inclusion of some of these other dermatologists only shows why most people avoid doctors like the plague. Hopefully when this contract is done she will get with a channel that gets her back to just good, dramaless dermatology.
