well crafted

A story of war. Medical experiments, dark stories, punishment, powerful message. Admirable photography, well used pieces of horror and great moral. A film for remind. Seductive in its pure coldness of the story.

watch it for Yoo Jeong

Predictable and drab - except for the young actress

this is a horror-less horror story based on the real life horror of a wwii japanese medical lab that used foreign subjects for cruel experiments - a la nazi medical experimentation - you've seen the plot before - so the resolution will come as no surprise

what makes this special and worth watching is the lead actress playing a chinese woman - she's korean actress Kim Yoo Jeong - Yoo Jeong started out as a child actress and has grown into a beauty - she has a genuine talent for acting - and a strong screen presence - plus here she is given a chance to demonstrate her english speaking skills.
