João Caetano: Tá na Terra

I got acquainted with this song, later on the music video, as it was a recurring theme in the great soap opera "O Salvador da Pátria" (1989) as it was the theme from the rural workers of Tangará, the fictional city from the story, and whenever there was some shot from the orange fields and the workers picking up oranges the song was played - a version with small characters from the show singing on a demonstration is also shown.

João Caetano's performance in this clip made for TV program "Fantástico" captures the exact sentiment of the TV show (I think it was filmed on the same location) and it describes the hard work, the power of the land and the pride about such labor, showing the workers on orange fields. It's a cool, memorable song and a small portion of the lyrics was actually changed to fit with the TV show (the original lyrics mentioned rice plantations rather than oranges). The clip would be more interesting if they'd use the main characters from the show (Sassá Mutema picking up oranges, or Bodão, his best mate) along with Caetano, who appears in a very happy and enthusiastic manner. It's not something that I hear much outside of the series, but sometimes I go back to it. 7/10.
