Possibly the most artful, thought-provoking, and visually stunning cinematic video game trailer I've ever seen. Really, this doesn't deserve to be a measly commercial; this feels more in line with Secret Levels or Love Death Robots.
Being an avid Destiny 2 player, I had high hopes for Marathon, and sadly learning more and more about this game, the hopes have pretty much died. I'm not a huge PvP fan, and to learn this is an extraction shooter, that was all I really needed to know to know this isn't what I would of preferred from the industries leader in first person shooters. But wow, after watching this trailer, I'm stunned. And disappointed. This cinematic is beautifully made, rooting up lore that was massively interesting to me. Honestly, the only complaint I have about this is that it's too short. Introducing us to this dangerous new world where entities known as Runners scavenge and kill with style, there's so much atmosphere and promise this little small revels shows. The directing style/animation reminded me of a particular episode of Love Death Robots (the siren episode) and by time this ended, I ended up rewatching at least 3 more times.
If there's ever any reason I ever decide to check this game out when it comes out, it will only be because of how much I enjoyed those cinematic.
