    Ghost in the shell vibes.

Under appreciated with "ghost in the shell" vibes.

The movie is a visual masterpiece which explores very heavy themes such as geopolitics, freedom and identity. Great character development and perfectly paced.

The movie is violent, maybe even grote-ish, but the advanced militarism and tactical realism was why attracted me without knowing any more context. Specifically I saw the drop-scene with disintegrating pods. Total sci fi.

Reading the reviews and seeing the score here I thought it would be all action, no substance. But boy was I wrong.

I really enjoyed this movie and was totally surprised. I was expecting raw violence with a decent storyline and zero depth. Instead it had miles of it. Technology is so advanced, it can't just be made up. There was serious thought put into every aspect of this movie.

But beware, looks can be deceiving. I think a lot of the bad credit could be attributed to the trailer giving the impression of something like "the expendables", and thus attracting that audience.

Starts well, but fades in the second half.

Genocidal organ is probably the weakest of the three ITOH movies. It seems to use two main themes; one is very innovative and possesses extraordinary original potential, while the other is an old worn theme, which has been used many times in the past. The movies starts with the original theme and pushes this very well until the reveal, where its almost casually revealed and thrown away for the old, well-worn theme, which continues until the end of the movie. There is nothing wrong with the conclusion of the movie, but it's been done so many times it can be very hum-drum. This is very unusual because in the first two movies the original innovative themes are run to the end of the movie, so I am unsure why Satoshi Ito did this in this movie. I suspect because he was trying to follow the primary plot of a computer game so had to go down that path. Apart from this the animation is excellent, but I found the characters a bit lifeless. This is not a major issue, but does not help during the boring bits and its hard to identify with the characters in any manner. The action scenes are very good and first the first half of the movie the conversations are interesting. Its only when you discover the plot has moved to such an old plot lines that it begins to lose its interest. My suggestion is to watch the other two movies and if you like them, watch this.

    bruh..

Genocidal Organ sets itself in a dystopian future plagued by terrorism and political unrest. The story follows a soldier, Clavis Shepherd, as he tracks down a mysterious figure responsible for instigating genocides through a secret "genocidal organ." The film attempts to combine fast-paced military action with heavy philosophical and political themes, but it struggles to balance the two. The plot is overly complex, with an array of convoluted ideas about control, war, and human nature that never fully come together. Instead of feeling intellectually stimulating, the film becomes a confusing mix of action and high-minded concepts that don't mesh well.

The characters in Genocidal Organ are underdeveloped, especially Clavis, whose motivations and emotional depth are hardly explored. This makes it difficult for the viewer to connect with him or the story's larger stakes. Although the animation quality is decent, with well-choreographed action sequences, these moments feel detached from the overarching narrative. The film's philosophical ambitions come off as forced and overly preachy, leaving little room for genuine emotional engagement. By the end, Genocidal Organ feels like a tedious watch, more focused on delivering convoluted ideas than telling a compelling story. What could have been a powerful political thriller ends up being a dull, overcomplicated mess.

Its REALLY BAD. Just jump to the famous action scene.

This movie could be a 20 minutes short, but instead they made an almost 2 hour long snore fest.

I like animes, but this is baaaad. Plot is bad, conversation is bad and the ending is very poorly written.

I really cant imagine Who might enjoy this, unless you have a very bad insomnia issue, in this case, you will love it!

So in a nutshell, this is a huge waste of your time. Just see at youtube the invasion scene, its 4 minutes long and its AWESOME, its everything an anime cyberpunk fan would like to see in a futuristic distopian movie.

Thats it folks, save yourself some time and go do something more useful like slepping.

Clavis Shepherd: Why did you kill her!

Williams: For Monita and the baby. My wife doesn't need to know what a shithole this world is! I don't want our kid growing up thinking the world is teetering on the brink of hell! She's going to feel safe and happy you got that Clavis? I'm prepared to protect my world, a world where, I can order a jalapeno pizza and pay for it with my I.D. thumbprint, or I can throw away my big mac, just because I'm full and I want to!
