This episode was just silly, and not in a fun way. Though of course many of these murders are over the top and theatrical, this one was just outright absurd. There were too many leaps in logic, a lack of cleverness and an unsatisfying resolution. I understand the "Florida Man" is a funny meme, but it's a whole other thing to make that the premise of an entire episode
Despite the frankly bad writing for this episode, Natasha still did a great job and the rest of the cast did as well. There's just something missing this season that I'm waiting for. The overarching plot is in a weird grey area and they're not doing enough to spark intrigue into the rest of the season.

Lucky McKee made May. May is incredible. But this episode is awful. It feels more like the tone of a random episode of 30 Rock instead of Poker Face. None of it makes sense, it's far too slapstick, and the sense of danger that lurks around the usual genuine humor and clever writing is gone because people are walking gators and seeing souls in eyes while FL cops are one step away from spitting into a spittoon and shooting their guns in the air. Charlie's first episode with no one looking for her and she decides to do something so, well, dumb. It took away from her character. Hopefully this was a fluke and the series gets back in track. It should be exciting to see where it could go with her new freedom and this episode didn't make the impression I was hoping for.
Officer Fran Lamont is a conscientious cop in Florida who is respected by her superiors and liked by the public.
She reluctantly attends the 2019 Flopa Copas Awards for her outstanding work. She loses the cop of the year award to Officer Gator Joe Pilson (Kumail Nanjiani) who patrols with a baby alligator named Daisy strapped to his body.
Six years later Gator Joe and his alligator Daisy are social media celebrities. Fran is flustered to lose out to Gator Joe each year.
It really is needling her and she is sure that this time, it will be Fran's year at the awards.
When she loses again, Fran mixes laxatives to Gator Joe's energy drinks. She gets the mixture wrong and Gator Joe dies.
So Fran then gets Daisy drugged up and she eats Gator Joe.
Now the cops are trying to kill Daisy. Charlie Cale gets involved as she is involved in an animal rights group trying to liberate Daisy.
This was a whimsical episode, obviously lampooning the Tiger King types. It was notable that Charlie could look Daisy in the eye and see her soul.
It was good to see Fran finding her own redemption.

This episode was hilarious and I'm pretty sure the bad reviews are from Floridians who have no sense of humor. Maybe it hit too close to home?
I have enjoyed every episode of Poker Face so far and this one did not disappoint. I truly enjoyed "good buddy" and Daisy! Stereotypes develop for a reason and Florida is no different. Just seems many Floridians are overly sensitive, or at least those that leave reviews are. I have visited Florida and it is beautiful but yes, there are some characters there, just like any other state.
Yes, this episode is a little more silly than the previous ones, but it is still excellent. Natasha Lyonne's is her usual excellent self as are the other actors.

Audience members need to suspend and reality and enjoy this episode. Yes, it is really stupid. I believe that is the point... Besides, Florida really is that crazy. I was laughing out loud the entire episode. It is so bonkers and clearly not believable. Half of the episodes in this show aren't believable. I feel like sometimes you need to imagine it as a cartoon. No one would question this if it was animated.
I am really enjoying season two so far. This episode was just as strong as a previous episode. Charlie is one of the best characters on television, and we, as an audience, should be thankful for this silly goofy comedic episode.

- TriviaThe band playing the first award show is called Yolo Tomassi And The Rude Boys In Blue. The name is a parody of a famous line from L.A. Confidential (1997) (1997) in which Kevin Spacey's character utters the name Rollo Tomassi as he is dying to his corrupt captain in order to trick him into exposing his guilt.
- GoofsThere is no external CB radio antenna on Charlie's car, yet she is able to both transmit and receive. Without an antenna, she would need to be talking to someone literally within earshot.
