I've ALWAYS been fascinated with true crime and what life would be like to be in prison or death row. This show combines it all. It tells the story of the crime, gives the death row inmate's take, and then let's the prosecution and defense explain their sides.
I hear other reviews on here complaining that Susan Sarandon is narrating it. I couldn't care less. Kermit the Frog could narrate it. I'm interested in the substance of the narration, not the voice.
This show is extremely factual. It let's you decide what side you're on.
Worst narration ever. Cannot even watch the series, she is that awful. Why on earth would she get a role such as this? Content may be good and worth watching; however, I can't get past her horrible voice.
Watched one episode (ep 7) and couldn't stomach the rest.
Woman raped and murdered, along with her child.
Prime suspect looks clearly guilty.
He is described as a lovely man, family man, etc throughout.
Years later: DNA evidence from the rape kit... it's him.
He now changes his story and tries to state that he had consensual sex with her but never killed her - disgusting and disgraceful.
Talking heads: I still think he is innocent.
Blimey. I've seen enough.
The show is that biased that they could portray the Devil as innocent.

We need to have laws to protect people regardless of their race, ethnicity and financial standing.
The judicial system has repeatedly failed people of colour and minorities.
People have been executed for crimes they didn't commit.
People have been forced to confess to crime they didn't commit.
We must end the capital punishment if we want to be a first world country.
There's so much wrong with the system that a few short documentaries here and there not going to do justice.
We have to treat people as a humanly as possible regardless of our biases.
An Extremely powerful documentary. We all have to stay educated about this topic.

Like the way it's being presented. You are able to view and hear about how the conviction occurred. You are also presented with all sides including the victims. Which is not only the person convicted of the crime but also the family and friends left behind to seek justice.
