Mangta Jogi

Watched Mangta Jogi at Jagran Film Festival, and it was such a powerful and thought-provoking experience. Written and directed by Sudhir Singh, the film beautifully blends humor, satire, and harsh social realities, offering a raw glimpse into rural India's struggles.

The story follows Ghasita, portrayed brilliantly by Manohar Pandey, who returns to his village after years in Kolkata, only to find his family drowning in poverty. His refusal to take up small jobs leads him to reconnect with his childhood friend Pawaru - now a rich man running a begging business. What follows is a bittersweet journey of survival, where desperation blurs the line between morality and necessity.

A special mention to late Farrukh Jaffer ji, whose presence as Amma ji adds so much warmth and authenticity to the story. Her effortless portrayal brings life to the character and reminds us why she was such a legend.

With its beautiful rustic visuals, authentic storytelling, and strong performances, Mangta Jogi uses humor to expose uncomfortable truths - making you laugh, think, and feel deeply. Grateful to witness such meaningful cinema at JFF!
