Jimmy mentions that Parker plays Carcassonne, which is a German board game designed by Klaus-Jürgen Wrede and published in 2000 by Hans im Glück in German and Z-Man Games in English. The game is named after the medieval town of Carcassonne in southern France, the town is famous for it's fortified walls which were built by the Roman Empire in 100 BC. The object of the game is to create a medieval landscape and town using individual tiles, each player takes a turn drawing a random tile from a pile of 71, each tile has specific parts of terrain or a structure on it. The new tile must be placed in a way that extends terrain features on the tiles it touches: roads must connect to roads, fields to fields, and cities to cities. A player has eight pieces, called followers or "meeples", they can place on certain areas of the board to control it. The game ends when the last tile has been placed, the winner is whoever controls the largest amount of tiles with their followers.

Since Kasie is a close friend of both victims, and was technically a suspect early in the investigation, she would not be allowed to analyze or process any evidence related to the case. To do so would be a conflict of interest and any evidence processed by her would almost certainly be inadmissible in court.
