Screened this in Sitges today, and WOW! I never rate things to 10, but this one swung big and delivered a whopper. Without spoiling anything, what you need to know is the Spanish love their horror, and between the narrative, casting, effects, and dialogue / script, it really does fire on all cylinders. The balance of the narrative told in a present tense peppering in previous events to color in the present, and then the ending? It is WILD. But in the best way. As the viewer, the investment in the primary character Kattalin is a constant, even up until the last action / frame of the film which leaves you the audience with the curiosity of what perspective the lens may be identifying the viewers with. It is graphic, but not gory. It is well paced and well framed. And it packs in some fantastic visuals that you will linger on post viewing. Dive in and enjoy!
