    THIS is an AMAZING game!

This game is definitely influenced by terraria, but that's a good thing! it takes some of whats good about terraria, throws in some new good things and gives you a spaceship! It's really fun and unique and the people saying its a terraria clone are just salty that they can't get past the tutorial planet. BUY THE GAME

    Clones

Listen, I love survival games and sandbox games and basically anything with lots of originality. I play the usuals like terraria and minecraft and this is just not original. It is a complete clone of terraria and they just slapped a space theme on it. So please do not buy this game, buy terraria instead, I was severely disappointed with this title. Dont Buy.

Starbound vs. Terraria: Why Starbound Takes the Crown

Starbound and Terraria are both beloved sandbox games that offer players a rich experience in exploration, crafting, and combat. However, there are several reasons why Starbound might be considered the superior game for some players.

    1. Story and Lore While Terraria offers minimal story elements, Starbound provides a full-fledged narrative. In Starbound, you play as a member of the Terrene Protectorate, an organization dedicated to maintaining peace. After the tutorial calamity, you embark on a journey through the stars to uncover the mystery behind the catastrophe. This storyline adds depth and purpose to your exploration, making the game more engaging for those who enjoy a narrative-driven experience.

    2. Exploration and Variety Starbound excels in its exploration mechanics. The game features a vast universe with procedurally generated planets, each with unique biomes, creatures, and resources. This variety keeps the gameplay fresh and exciting, as you never know what you'll discover next. In contrast, Terraria's world is more static, with a limited number of biomes and less emphasis on exploration.

    3. Customization and Building Both games offer extensive building and customization options, but Starbound takes it a step further. You can collect and use almost any item you find on different planets to decorate your base. This level of customization allows for more creative freedom and personalization. Terraria, while also offering a robust building system, focuses more on functionality than aesthetics.

    4. Combat and Boss Fights Terraria is known for its challenging boss fights and combat mechanics. However, Starbound offers a more balanced experience. While it may not have as many epic boss battles, the combat in Starbound is more integrated into the exploration and story elements. This makes the game feel more cohesive and less grindy.

    5. Dungeons Starbound features procedurally generated dungeons that vary greatly depending on the planet's biome. These dungeons can include major dungeons, microdungeons, and space dungeons, each with unique layouts, enemies, and treasures. The dungeons are often protected by shield generators, adding an extra layer of challenge as players must disable these shields to access certain areas.

In contrast, Terraria has a single, vast underground dungeon that is generated on world creation. This dungeon is located on either the far right or left of the map and contains unique, mostly skeletal enemies. The dungeon's layout is static, and its challenge comes from the increasing spawn rates of enemies as players delve deeper. While rich in treasure and unique items, Terraria's dungeon lacks the variety and procedural generation found in Starbound's dungeons.

    6. Modding Community Both games have active modding communities, but Starbound's mods, like the Frackin' Universe, add a significant amount of content, almost doubling the base game. This makes the game more replayable and offers endless possibilities for new adventures.

Conclusion While Terraria is a fantastic game with its own strengths, Starbound offers a more immersive and varied experience. Its rich story, expansive universe, extensive customization options, and procedurally generated dungeons make it a standout choice for players looking for a deeper and more engaging sandbox adventure.
