I knew nothing about this case when I watched the movie. What stood out to me was its nearly three-hour runtime. I'm glad I watched it because it's very well done, never boring, and the topic is important to learn about. I have been following the Lori Vallow Daybell case since the beginning; it's also about the Mormon church. I highly recommend this movie. It inspired me to research Ervil LeBaron. Even though Lori and Chad Daybell have been convicted and are now in prison, I have always wondered if they are still influencing their followers from behind bars. I hope it's different than the case in this movie.
I don't judge easily, but this movie again shows that there's something wrong with the LDS church. They never speak out about cases like these, which is especially troubling. Besides Lori and Chad Daybell, there's also the case of Ruby Franke and Jody Hildebrandt. Still, no statement from the Mormon LDS church regarding these cases. If you don't know much about Mormons or the LDS Church, this movie will show you how its founder, Joseph Smith, created an environment conducive to false prophets and brainwashing.
