    Uh... Nine!

The women are beautiful; and they do a great job with the fighting stunts. For these reasons, I gave this film nine stars.

Couldn't make it through this. It must have been locals doing the crew a favor with the positive ratings. It seemed to win some awards I've never heard of, so I may try to finish at some point.

    Indie Film Success!

Having another breakthrough director do his magic from the Bay Area. This movie has made it mark. A must see!

Great humor mixed in with stylish vampire-slaying!

I think the best way to approach watching "Vampariah" is to go into it with no expectation on how a film about the undead is suppose to unfold.

While many of the visual effects were quite impressive, what I enjoyed most was the tongue-in-cheek humor and the subtle swipes of social satire. This movie is fun, and I think some people watching it are taking it way too seriously.

I also loved the satire on ghost-hunting docudrama-type shows. I wanted to see even more of that.

"Vampariah" is an impressive and ambitious debut-feature!

    Vampire film with a message

This is a film set in contemporary times with a deep connection to Filipino culture and folklore of the older times. Add in themes of politics, religion, colonialism, sexuality, and gender and you have this film. This is going to be a film that people will study in Asian American Film Studies classes in the future and talk endlessly about the Asian American existence in the modern American Western world. INSTANT CLASSIC. For all others who just want to be entertained this movie moves fast with lots of monsters and mythical characters challenging the journey of the main characters and their opponents of progress towards a better world of acceptance by mainstream thought.
