    This is a bad sign

Not really sure how this could have grabbed so many positive reviews.

Perhaps it's the same people that thought Murder she Wrote was a high caliber mystery show.

Watching what has happened to The Rookie demonstrates what happens when you try to mix too much comedy into a drama. It becomes a parody of itself. This episode has some really stupid dialogue, characters doing absolutely ridiculously cliched things, too many to even mention here. There were a couple of redeeming moments but for me they were wiped out by the rest of a ridiculous plot and romantic shenanigans.

I'm hoping that this is not what is in store for the remainder of the season.

    Shark jumper?

I have enjoyed this series since it premiered however tonight's episode made me wonder if it just "jumped the shark"?

First we have this season's goofy new characters; the orphaned teenager, the Latina attorney with a crush on Mr Trent, the Sally Field doppelganger secretary. And then the plot holes such as having Will Trent on the chess competition floor knowing he could be visually identified by one of the suspects. The main four law enforcement characters with blatantly visible earpieces while supposedly working undercover having unprofessional casual conversations. Allowing the teenager to grab a walkie-talkie. A plot built on the premise that people are stupid enough to watch Alias and still think they can be recruited by the CIA to the point of murdering somebody.

I have now met the minimum character requirement.

    Implausibility 101

The premise here is hokum. We have a group of supposed CIA agents, hired to murder people. The problem is they signed up on line. They were then fed information about their victims, whom they thought were the criminals.

Angie is back and the whole episode has Will and she clashing over protocol. They find their relationship to be irreparable and each time they are in the same room there is tension.

Ormewood takes a shine to the district CIA director and acts like Barney Fife, coming on to her. He even tries to "look" like a spy.

The capture is somewhat entertaining. I am going to tire fast from the young girl, the daughter of the gangbanger.

    Who wrote/approved this episode??

Whoever the consultant is - at least on this episode - needs to either be replaced or listened to! When the guy who's in "protective custody" gets away out a window/fire escape - seriously?! If it's his place, they would've had more than officers present at the door - there would've been a physical/electronic presence covering the window - and it was a "safe house" it never would've been in a place with window access!! Gotta do better with an otherwise excellent show!! The actors/crew of this show do their part and deserve better than weak links that anyone with common sense can clearly see - please do better by them!

The tv show Alias in which they discuss, starred Jennifer Garner and aired for 5 seasons beginning in 2001.
    • Goofs
When Sunny first arrived at Amanda's, Amanda said shoes never touch the floor there (asking her to take them off at the front door). However, at the beginning of this episode, in the kitchen, you can clearly hear Amanda is walking around in heels.
