Saint Lucia's breathtaking landscapes were showcased in a big way. The high quality displayed in this local film was amazing. The movie truly highlighted the struggles of men as they tend to bottle up emotions as they try to deal with them on their own. All men should go to watch this to take note of how to deal with traumatic situations. All women should watch this to understand masculine struggles and discover how to empathize with them.
The government should really use this movie as a marketing peace to showcase the beautiful landscapes that we have down here. It will surely bringing many visitors to this country to experience for themselves what beautiful sceneries we have.
The movie also shows the man being a victim of suicide trying to deal with the loss of his wife. It also shows him doing his best to integrate himself into a normal way of life in the midst of dealing with the loss. His female friend truly tries to help him by allowing him to forget the grief that he is going through.

Let's break it down by category:
PLOT: The storyline was genuinely impressive-realistic and emotionally resonant. It's refreshing (and frankly, overdue) to see a film explore men's mental health with such sincerity. Too often, society pushes men to suffer in silence with harmful phrases like "toughen up" or "boys don't cry." Heartfall challenges that narrative by embracing vulnerability, and for that alone, it deserves high praise.
Rating: 10/10
DIALOGUE: The dialogue was solid overall, though it had its moments of awkwardness. While the local flavour was appreciated, some lines could use refining. One standout issue was the overuse of names in conversation-"Adam this" and "Kate that" happened far too frequently. In everyday speech, we rarely use each other's names that much, especially in casual conversations.
Rating: 6/10
ACTING: There were definitely noticeable flaws here. Some facial expressions and character traits came across as forced or exaggerated. It's clear that the cast would benefit from more training and development. With proper support-from the government or private sector-our local talent could truly thrive. There's potential here, and Heartfall proves it.
Rating: 5/10
CINEMATOGRAPHY: Absolutely breathtaking. I once said I wanted to see Saint Lucia through the eyes of a visitor to truly appreciate its beauty-Heartfall delivered on that wish. The visuals were stunning and will undoubtedly serve as a strong marketing tool for the island. After this gains international attention, I wouldn't be surprised if more production companies take interest.
Rating: 10/10
EDITING: The pacing was mostly good, but a few scenes dragged unnecessarily-like watching Adam walk to the supermarket for what felt like 20 seconds straight. Also, while the drone shots were beautiful, they were slightly overused. A little restraint would have made them more impactful. Still, the overall effects and flow were commendable.
Rating: 8/10
DIRECTING: The vision was clear, and the execution was strong. The director clearly knew what he wanted and guided the actors well. It's evident that thoughtful direction played a major role in pulling the project together.
Rating: 9/10
SOUNDTRACK: Outstanding. The music elevated the emotional depth of the scenes and was perfectly matched throughout. Knowing that one of the featured songs is local made it even more special.
Rating: 10/10
Final Thoughts: Heartfall marks a significant step forward for Saint Lucia's film industry. If Artlas Studios continues along this path, the only direction is up. And special recognition must go to the driving force behind it all- Elijah N. Anatole. His work deserves applause.
Overall Rating: 8.5/10.

"Heartfall" is a psychological romance that follows Adam, a grieving man navigating life after losing his wife. Director Elijah has crafted an intensely personal film that explores loss, depression, and the struggle to move forward, all captured against the stunning backdrop of Saint Lucia.
What Works:
The film's greatest strength lies in its authentic handling of the grieving process. Rather than relying on clichés, it maintains Adam's perspective throughout, creating a vague yet deeply personal narrative that allows viewers to project their own experiences with loss onto the story. This is a masterful slow burn that never feels rushed or forced.
The lead actor, despite not being a professional, delivers a remarkably convincing performance. His embodiment of grief feels genuine and vulnerable, particularly in a standout scene where he opens up to his father-in-law about feeling like everyone is acting as if his wife never existed. It's raw, honest, and heartbreaking.
Visually, "Heartfall" is stunning. Shot entirely across Saint Lucia-from Rodney Bay marina to pristine beaches-the cinematography uses the island's natural beauty to paradoxically highlight Adam's isolation and depression. The contrast between external tranquility and internal turmoil is expertly captured through crisp lenses that make you forget you're watching a local production. At times, Saint Lucia feels both foreign and familiar, perfectly mirroring the protagonist's disconnected state.
The sound design, while having minor audio issues, is largely compelling and intense, effectively accompanying Adam's emotional journey without overwhelming the intimate storytelling.
Minor Concerns:
Supporting characters, while natural and authentic, remain largely in the background-though this serves the story's focus on Adam's internal world. One slight inconsistency involves a lifestyle disparity between Adam's residence and his use of public transportation, which could have benefited from a brief explanatory flashback.
Final Thoughts:
"Heartfall" is the kind of film that stays with you long after the credits roll. It's a deeply personal experience that will resonate differently with each viewer, particularly those who have their own relationship with loss, grief, or thoughts of mortality. The film encourages metacognition and self-reflection in ways that feel organic rather than forced.
Elijah has set an impressively high bar for Saint Lucian filmmaking, creating a work that deserves attention from both local and international audiences. This is essential viewing-a must-see that proves powerful storytelling transcends budget limitations.
"Heartfall" doesn't just tell a story about grief; it creates space for viewers to examine their own.

I thoroughly enjoyed it! The sceneries like you captured the beauty of stlucia for a moment I forgot the movie was filmed in stlucia, the story line this movie really brought to life what men don't talk about and how they internalize their pain and it shows up in behaviors that may show up as disrespect that was so real, the small therapy sessions where words of wisdom was given it was well balanced entertaining, relatable, teachable, funny and my favorite part scenic
One thing that stood out to me was the way women were portrayed in the movie, soft and feminine while still the ones taking action; planning dates, messaging first, being apologetic and these behaviors were able to highlight the softer side in men. I'm not sure if this was the director's intention, but these particular moments struck a deep philosophical chord in me
With that said GO watch this movie!! St. Lucian's really be showing the world that a 150k population doesn't stop us and I love that!! Proud Lucian moment.

Heartfall was visually stunning ...the shots were crisp, cinematic and high-definition... it felt like I was watching an international film. The locations were perfectly selected, very breathtaking! The editing, color grading, and post-production work.... amazing!
Several scenes were very touching, but the ones that stood out most to me were the speech from his father-in-law, the reunion with his daughter, and Dr. King's speech. I appreciated how vulnerable Adam allowed himself to be, it made me imagine a life like his. The storyline itself was compelling ...following a man who had been grieving for over three years, showing how the weight of loss consumed him and ultimately how he found the strength to accept and move forward. The moment he collected her belongings from the hospital was very deep .. a quiet but powerful way to close that chapter and open himself to love again.
The humor was a great touch as well. It lightened the mood at the right moments and made the film more enjoyable and relatable.
I would have loved to see more of Adam's bond with his daughter after his healing process, and how his lifestyle changed... but overall, I really enjoyed Heartfall.
The turnout was great, and hearing the audience clap more than once at the end was a testament to how well the film was received.
I do hope more Saint Lucians take the opportunity to view the film, and I also hope it will be available online for those who aren't able to watch at the cinema.
Looking forward to seeing the next one!!!!
