6/6/18. This is a very light romantic comedy. Doesn't require too much on the viewer's part to see what's going on. In other words, you don't have to invest too much of your emotional life in what's going on with the characters. You may say, "Aw, that was sweet" once or twice.
Simply put, the thought that constantly comes to mind is "nobody in real life talks like this"; unrealistic dialogue. Also, there is very cheesy music used multiple times that make this seem like more of an anti-depressant commercial than a movie.
I can't believe I was able to finish this terrible film. Wow what a terrible movie. Even as a show it would be awful. Cheesy as heck and what guy would give this main character a second chance? Especially in the beginning of a relationship? Unbelievable fluff piece.
The boyfriend attempts to help her out by leasing out her place and she goes out and fumes about it. What the heck is wrong with that? Just awful.

I watch movies so that I can escape my world for a few moments and feel good. Life's stresses and challenges can bring you down. And a good movie helps you lift yourself back up so that you can conquer a new day. I very much enjoyed this movie as I can identify with all the characters, and celebrate the positive moments in life. There was nothing in this movie that depressed me or brought me down. I was not forced to contemplate someone else's political views or life's cruel twists of fate. It left me hopeful and rejuvenated, just what I needed!
I thought the acting was excellent and very convincing. Both of the leads did an excellent job, and the supporting cast was excellent as well.

nothing extraordinary about the plot- it's a rom com. some nice moments from other actors but the main one she tries way too hard/ OK and the one issue I have is i've seen a handful of movies centered around characters who can sing. Some stories better than others but at least the actors did their own singing which makes the role real. Lip syncing is so cheesy and throws the whole scene if not movie off kilter. OK there was no lead-in explanation to this supposed perfect woman having a musical background. one 10 second bit of her playing piano in the beginning and then all of a sudden at some do-gooder fundraiser she is putting on a concert- and lip syncing, a beautiful song but not her piano and not her singing. And then boring holes in the guy's face. Because lets face it if it were really her with a passion for music and singing that song she would have been feeling it and not glaring stonily at this Ben person. Would have been more real to get someone who can actually sing. Anyway, always love Jon Lovitz for some alternate energy in the movie to make it otherwise just a story about a sad and lonely girl with friends whose only mission for 90 minutes is to hook her up. I admit I've seen my share of rom coms, just that some writers try harder to add more depth to the story and not just make it about boy meets girl, girl bats eyelashes at boy, and the only 'conflict' is whether she runs back to boy A or falls for boy B. not riveting as far as plots go. Sub plots are allowed in rom coms too ;)
