Knight Life is an outstanding film that captures the down and dirty of competitive jousting. Follows the life of a jousting knight. It talks about all the cast of the jousting tournaments and how they got their start. Shows the life style of a knight at Ren faire and the life of a traveler. The only thing I wish it would have gone more into. Is how the armor is made and how they put the armor on. Very interesting to learn how they take care of the horses and how good the horses are treated. If you're looking for a documentary that gets to the point with out all the flare and a million minutes of b-roll. This is the film for you.

I never realized just how much work goes into the jousting shows at the ren fairs until watching this documentary. I always thought they were all staged and "toned down" for safety. This documentary shows the work and beatings these knights take to entertain their guests. It's put together well and keeps you interested in the behind-the-scenes of some of the best entertainment at the fair, with slow-mow shots of the impact of lances and hooves hitting the dirt. The music was nice as well.
I have always loved watching the jousts but now I have even more respect for the men and women beneath the armor. They are truly talented and tough!

Knight Life is an eye-opening and deeply inspiring documentary that takes viewers behind the scenes of the Renaissance festival circuit, offering an unfiltered look at the dedication, training, and sheer grit required to be a professional jouster. The physical demands are intense, the risks are high, and the potential for injury is ever-present, yet these incredible athletes push forward with unwavering passion for their craft.
What sets this documentary apart is its focus not just on the sport, but on the community behind it. The film beautifully showcases how Dave and his team welcome anyone with the heart and determination to join, offering a truly unbiased space regardless of gender. Even more inspiring is their commitment to supporting veterans, using the discipline and camaraderie to help them navigate the many challenges they face in life.
Beyond the thrilling action and breathtaking visuals, Knight Life is a testament to resilience, inclusivity, and the power of pursuing one's passion. Dave and his team are remarkable human beings, and this documentary left me both in awe and profoundly inspired. A must-watch for anyone fascinated by history, sports, or the incredible strength of the human spirit!

I've been to a number of Ren faires and the jousting is always a highlight. Never knew or appreciated the amount of work and sacrifice the performers put into recreating this lost
Art.
Seeing the training, dedication and horsemanship of the cast was amazing. Taking those skills to help veterans was an unexpected twist To the story. Bravo to all who share that comfort
The focus may have been on David, but the stories on the other performers were fascinating. Helped me Understand why anyone would subject Themselves to this lifestyle. And the respect that show for David was obvious.
I enjoyed this movie immensely and would recommend it to anyone with even a casual interest.

This Documentary is an absolute magnificent portrayal of a long lost sport set for revival. For those who have never seen this in person, the intensity and raw footage is nothing short of extraordinary. The planning, training, and competitiveness of this sporting event exhibits a nostalgic feeling of the medieval period. It really takes a special person to compete and be successful as a Jouster. These knights endure a tremendous amount of pain and it is seen by the blunt force expelled from each exchange. David Schade is an exemplary leader which brings an important element to the joust team at Sherwood. Looking forward to seeing more documentaries like this in the future.
